      Good luck to all!

What does the +/-5% max on club settings mean? Are we able to increase distance to a max of 5% and still play?

You should only adjust the settings to get them to what they should be for your real life performance. No point in boosting your shots just to do it. This tour is all for fun and meant to help us practice for playing on the real courses.

My first round didn't set the bar very high....sigh. btw...those greens were stupid fast and firm.

Played against both of your ghost balls. We were neck and neck Matt until the end when I fell apart playing the final four holes in +6. Goatbarn, very impressive performance. I'll post my video tomorrow so you can just admire your ball flight...

Agree about how fast the greens played. My chip shots just kept rolling and rolling.

        ----------------------------------------------------------

Here is the video of my round which includes goatbarn's and goodmatt's ghost balls.

Got it. Thanks. I will not be adjusting anything. I've always been curious as to how the playing field is kept even though with respect to boosting.

Clarification for Pro Tee Settings. Hopefully this will explain my 36 Handicap. I read in settings that for Pro Tee, when using the Golf Club, set all settings @ 0 excepting greenside bunkers @ 40%. I also had my professional setting all the way left @ 0% forgiveness. I had my penalties set @ 7% for light rough, 15% for heavy rough & fairway bunkers and 50% for greenside bunkers. If the correct settings in Pro Tee interface are all @ 0 except for greenside bunkers and I am allowed to move my forgiveness to the maximum allowable for professional my scores should hopefully drop. I'm not a 36 handicap in real life. Could someone please clarify?

            Sincerely & Respectfully,
            Eshmetro

Not sure what you mean about the forgiveness setting to maximum allowable but my understanding is it should be set to 0.

New to this . . . How is this course chosen versus another course if the tournament is played on a course that is not in the TGC database?

Some people that have been around here a while pick them.

Please post what hardware you're using. I assume Protee but is it?

Yes Eshmetro, unfortunately forgiveness setting in the interface should be 0, actually with no wind this setting plays very realistically.

I suspect there will be some very high scores this week. I just played part of a practice round, 20-25mph sidewinds are tough to deal with! I think I had 1 par in about 12 holes..the rest were bogeys or worse...

Out of curiosity... Is the wind speed variable and does it change throughout the day like it does in the retail version of the game?

Curious on this too, think it changes throughout the day. Those 15mph side winds I was getting last tournament were nuts. I don't think I was able to set my aim actually on any green the whole time, always at least 5 or 10 yards off to the left or right it felt. It really is a challenge. Gonna be insane this tournament I'm sure haha. I'm definitely impressed how some of you guys are scoring so well with that, I still got plenty of work to do in my game to try to catch up. That's what makes it fun though, gotta keep at the grind.

Never have been crazy about that feature in the game. I realize wind changes in tournaments. But PGA tournaments are set up where their Thu/Fri tee times give an equal split of a morning and afternoon tee time. So you have at least one round where you're most likely to get low wind conditions. In TGC, it's completely random luck of the draw. In the PS4 tournaments, people would start a round and leave/come back later if the wind was up when they stepped on the first tee. Would make more sense if wind could be made uniform and constant.
