Wasn't it decided last week that wind would be OFF for the remaining events?

Just curious, is "The marina golf club" actually Bay Hill?

Looking to get back into the tourneys after being down for two weeks due to sim renovation.

Wow, just played a practice round. Completely different feel than the last few weeks. Overall, I feel the length and tightness will reward the better players here (missing a fairway by much means lots of trees to deal with). It definitely doesn't play to my strengths.

That being said, the greens are definitely not sim friendly. Almost every putt from 15 ft or more out had 8 inches or more of elevation change. I think this was the most 3 putts I've ever had in round, real life or sim. The greens kept me from making this a favorite.

              Agreed - very difficult greens

WOW . . . What a difference a week makes indeed. I just completely embarrassed myself in round one. Front nine was HORRENDOUS. I couldn't do anything right. Finally settled into a little bit of a rhythm on the back side until the final 2-3 holes and then I went completely brain dead. It's been a good while since I played a round that poorly on the sim or in real life. Well I guess I can't say that. I played the Q school rounds pretty poorly until the last one I believe. Good grief . . . I may have to spend a couple days on the range before I play round 2.

Same thing happened to me. I was actually so embarrassed with my play I don't think I'm going to put my video online. I think I shot a 98 but wow did I hit the ball poorly. The ghost ball I played (Claude) also seemed to struggle. Hoping that round 2 goes a little better. I need to put up at least one of my rounds for the developers sake.

There are some truly stupid greens on this course. Other than the terrible greens, I really liked the layout. I like courses with good visibility, where you dont need to use scout camera. This is one of those course. Plenty of elevated tee boxes and just easy to see where you are going.

Wow, i thought it was just me. Putting was terrible.

DO NOT MISS 17 TO THE RIGHT!!!!!

You have to hit back toward the tee box. That hole killed me alone. I couldn't hit a flop high enough to get back up to the green.

Yes 17 ATE MY LUNCH! And I was right as well. I think it took me 3-4 shots to get out of the depths :-(. Then 18 I was right behind the big tree on the left approach to the green. My first one I tried to draw a 7 iron that faded instead out into the drink. Then I went 7 iron and tried to fade it back and ended up in the drink. I think I might have even hit one more in the drink before I hit the bridge to stay dry.

Hahahah i had the same thing on 17 on my practice round. It's a tough one. I hit a flop as hard as i can and just made it to the fringe, well on my 5th try that was lol. I had a 300 Yard drive (50ft or so down) but that was the only Highlight. We will see what happens with my 2 tournament rounds i will have to play friday .

I definitely should have played a practice round before teeing off for real.

I like a tough one once in a while, keeps it more interresting. Remember wind OFF on this one !

This is nothing. We played a version of St Andrews last summer that had elevation changes of 5 feet on the greens. That was horrible.

One of the issues we face with TGC is 99.9% of people with the game are playing on a console. Scoring has become a problem because joystick people are going too low. This has caused a lot of designers to trick up their courses to protect scores. The courses for these tournaments have often been picked based on the name and they are meant for console players. Go play on Xbox with ghosts and see how they destroy every course.

Going forward Bubba22 is leading a group to test courses first before adding to the tours. You'll find a better selection going forward. Sure, there's some long ones, but there's some short ones. The spring tour will have variety.
