I played a practice round and my first round last night. I like the course a lot. Had a good round other than my brain farts on 2 ( 8 ) and 17 . Had a nice chip in bird on 4 and another bird somewhere. Also had my first ever ghost shot at 14:33 in my video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByFn1gZyzD8 ) I tested video recording my rounds with a free software called open broadcaster. Since i play on my laptop and shadowplay is not working on laptops, at least yet. Hope they will change that. I will put the webcam pic in a different corner in my next videos. If you guys want to watch a bad golfer your more then welcome, you just might want to watch it on mute or without kids around lol . Here my practice round video as well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjATJRvgLAM

      Keeping the videos coming...

I had a nice first round and our foursome did quite well (though nobody came close to Vincent_Vega). I really enjoy this course though I couldn't make a putt. Not many straight putts near the hole. Looking forward to round 2.

I had Vincent and you as a ghost.he had a awesome round, I'm sure we will see some really low scores this week. Seems like high 20s are in the picture

As the spring approaches I thought I would just stop using my sim room. After playing around 1 - I'm pretty sure I'll keep this up. Had a great time playing against 3 ghosts. Shot 84 with so many 3 putts I lost count. Really need to figure out putting on TGC.

You'll get the hang of it. A couple of tips that I've kind of learned... 1.) Play more break than you think you should. 2.) This one is kind of goofy to me and maybe a small flaw in putting physics with TGC, but it's exactly the same on the console version as well. If your ball is sitting directly on a grid line and the moving dot is showing moderate to significant break, then count on your ball jumping right or left immediately off the putter face. This causes the ball to start on a line much further offline than you're probably anticipating, then you have to take in to account the break between you and the hole as well. You should play more break in this situation.

Yeah I definitely noticed playing more break helped quite a bit. I always change my aim in game to compensate for this and then hit straight.

Watching the IRL tournament via the PGA Live app and the course is absolutely stunning! Really wish I wouldn't have taken such a LONG time away from golf, because my interest in the game overall took a break as well and we never went to any of the tournaments either in Humble or The Woodlands while we lived down there :-(.

Played both rounds last night...should have stopped after the 1st round as I kinda fell apart in the 2nd round. Also, it doesn't help when you trip over the USB cable and then try and readjust the ST alignment on the fly.....lol

I did drive the 289 par 4 in the first round!!!!

Yeah I played one round, not sure if I'll get time to play another before the end of the tournament, but it was really cool watching Thursday's PGA replay action last night because of the similarities. I couldn't tell quite how similar, really wish I could play a round while watching

I played round 1 today. +4, one of my best rounds on TGC. 4 birdies, which is way above my ability. Made a couple long putts..and was able to pull off a miracle, a 2-putt from 80 feet. First putt made it to within gimmie range.

Pretty disappointed I didn't get to play the course this week. Had to take down the sim before drywalling and painting. Painting supposed to be done by Wednesday so I'll be able to play Magnolia.

Just a quick question. I don't have a handicap yet as I still have two rounds to play but can see for this tournament I was given handicap of 7.5. If when I get my handicap will it update for next tournament. Also does your handicap go up and down. Thanks in acvance

Your handicap will be adjusted almost every week, if not every week. Mine went down from 26 three weeks ago to 24 two weeks ago and 15 this week. Not sure about the going up. I really hope I will never find out lol

Sorry but you would have to ask protee about what system they use. I'm in Germany and have no clue about the handicap systems lol

Made it back from Mexico in one piece and finished my two rounds today. I fell apart on a couple of holes as I sometimes do IRL. Finished 9 over for the 2 rounds so I'm pretty happy about that. I really needed to take advantage of those short par 4's and 5's and.... I didn't. Time to get ready for the Masters.

Glad to see you're back! So the real question is: How did you golf in Mexico and how are your new weapons? lol

2 rounds...86 and then 82. GIRs and FIRs were very close to what I have in the basement. Putting was pretty difficult. First of all,,,, no green lines. Secondly the course was slope rated at 74.7/138. New clubs worked well. Down in Mexico, the humidity and elevation made about a one club difference for distance. Only one drive over 300. I think I averaged about 270 over the two rounds and I was crushing the driver.

I think you have a 49 point lead so if you finish you win. I won the last tour so a rubber match on the spring tour for a round at mine or your club? lol

I had a huge improvement in my game since August. Since it is a handicapped tour the most improved player will have a big advantage. The next step for me is to take some lessons. My goal for the next tour is to be in the top third for gross score. Right now I am probably not quite there yet.
