Looking forward to playing this course. We lived in Humble, Texas for nearly 10 years before we moved to Kansas. Drove by that course I can't tell you how many times :-).

Here's 8 or 9 holes of my first round. Great course for sim play, very well done real course re-creation. Much more enjoyable than the previous 2 tour courses. A lot of risk/reward shots.

You are a great ball striker! Love the ball flight.

Well I got to play my practice round tonight. Started out really good and then the wheels fell off for a few holes as my driver went wonky on me. Got that figured out and finished better, but still ended up +10, which was disappointing on this course. If you can keep it in the fairway or just off you can shoot some low numbers for sure this week. Very favorable course. I tried to get over a water hazard with my drive on a par 5 on the back side and splashed down. That was disappointing, but was still able to salvage par on the whole. Looking forward to starting the tournament!

Played a practice round tonight with Moz and a couple of other ghosts shot a 79 with 1 retake that registered wonky drive., beat all three ghosts I loved the greens on this one the putting is superb and the course is really fun to play. Too bad it wasn't a real game with my 19 handicap it would have been great to post.

Glad i could help! LOL - I played it yesterday and really enjoyed the course. Probably my best showing (thanks for beating me ) Shot a 82 wih my 26 handicap - wish it was a HC rated course so it would have helped bring it down!

I don't quite understand why my handicap hasn't went down since the first tournament. Is it because these weren't handicap rated courses? Literally the first rounds I played after buying TGC was the Q School and like many it took me a few rounds to learn the little nuances of TGC. I'm now comfortable with it and certainly shouldn't be playing to an 8.1 handicap. Can ProTee manually adjust it for me? If not, I will play a few rounds on official HB courses that are handicap rated so it will come down to where it should be.

We had issues with TGC handicaps so the tournament handicaps are done manually by Protee. They are independent of the TGC game handicap. Long story short, having kids or friends play on your sim make the cap change ect. Manually is better. Don't feel bad, I think mmlincon is 100 under par in the last 5 tournaments.

A better handicap system is needed.

Wasn't aware that the TGC cap is not used. Does protee publish the manually determined caps somewhere?

Am I right to assume that protee uses the scores from the 4 handicap qualifying rounds played?

Started a practice round and was surprised by the heavy rough off the fairway. Been to this tournament IRL several times, the rough is like carpet, cut very short like Augusta. The rough is almost like hitting off fairway. Not sure why the designer made the rough so long but I can deal with it.

As a designer you only have the option for light rough or heavy rough. If only light rough was used, it may have looked strange. I'd say that's the reason why it is the way it is. The course designer does not allow for variations of rough length beyond those 2 options.

Well I played round one tonight and ended up with a 10 over just like my practice round. Didn't play nearly as well as my practice round, but found a way to scramble on some holes. Driver is still all over the place as you can see if you play my ghost ball. EMBARRASSING really. I was not happy and had some time so I went ahead and played my second round tonight as well. Still wasn't striking the ball very well and all, but again was able to cut three strokes off and finish with a +7 for round 2. I have the new Titleist wedges and absolutely love them. I switched to my normal prov 1x ball in round two and the difference between the Nike Soft (green) ball is night and day what I'm able to do on the green. I'll only be playing my IRL golf ball from now on. Unfortunately it didn't help my driver or iron play. Even my 3 wood which has been HOT was off today :-(.

I'm done for this week. I played both rounds last night :-). That gives me a week to get things "ironed" out ;-). Actually I think I've figured out my driver. I widened my stance and that has straightened me out significantly. I'm not sure why I was so sporadic with the more narrow stance, but I'll stick with the wider stance for now.

9 over on the front and 1 under on the back on my first round. My golf game is schizophrenic.
