Finished my round 2 last night before heading out for our press association conference. Hit the ball even better in round 2 but didn't score as well :-(. I finished with a +8 for the round and +14 for the tournament. Looking forward to next week.

I finished round one. Not good. I started off fantastic. I was 1 over after 9 holes. Ended up at 11 over. Some of those greens are tough.

Optimal Flight is generally considered the "gold standard" so it's results for those numbers are:Originally posted by ks-manLet me ask, if I'm seeing numbers of 138 ballspeed, low launch angles (maybe between 8-11), low ballspeed (800-1500) and sidespin around -1400 I will usually see a carry distance on GC2 around 185. On TGC I'll see carry distances around 120 and if it lands in the fairway it will roll to about 160yds.
Any guess based on what you are seeing with your numbers what I should expect a real drive like that to do? Thanks.
BS 138, LA 8, Backspin 800, SS -1400 then carry is 128 yards, offline 15 yards
BS 138, LA 11, Backspin 800, SS - 1400 then carry is 154 yards, offline 23 yards
BS 138, LA 8, backspin 1500, SS - 1400 then carry is 156 yards, offline 21 yards
BS 138, LA 11, backspin 1500, SS - 1400 then carry is 180 yards, offline 28 yards
These results indicate you really can't group all of them into a single example since in there is quite a difference in carry. That makes it hard to know what you are seeing and whether there is a problem or not. You certainly shouldn't be seeing 185 yards carry for all of them, nor 120 yards carry for all of them.
I also think the PG guys found that the GC2 over-estimated some of these shots although I can't quite remember the exact scenarios. But in whatever scenario it was the GC2 can't be considered the gold standard in that case so watch out for that.

Dear protee,
Please do not factor my first round score this week into my handicap. I wasn't paying attention at a family party and my nephew played my 1st round at +44. My second round was my actual score and while not pretty (+10), is at least closer to real life. I considered withdrawing from the tournament, but I liked the course and figured there is no way I could possibly get more than participation points this week anyways.

In the tournament before I played some practice rounds and in my practice rounds I do some auto rewind sometimes to figure out the best approach for the green etc. However because I only had one day before I left for a work trip I had to play the tournament rounds the same day as well. Long story short, I had a huge brain fart, did two auto rewinds in the first tournament round and after the 2nd rewind I finally remembered I was not practicing anymore lol. I just simply quit at the approach shot on the 18. green and didn't finish the round. Kinda pissed me off but shit happens.

I thought about bailing, but I figured I'd go for participation points. Looks like @protee was able to adjust it, so much appreciated. Lesson learned.

No worry. We adjusted the score of your first round, so it won't affect your tour handicap. Unfortunately thats the only way to do this right now.Originally posted by SwingHarder View PostDear protee,
