Shot 70. My best round ever (in IRL and on a sim)! Had an amazing lesson yesterday with my golf instructor and was glad to see it work "on the course".

Awesome round man! Love it when it all clicks. Happen to me during the masters tournament and have slowly lost it the last few weeks haha, starting to hopefully get it back here soon though with stuff I'm working on. Basically my word of advice with it, hold onto it somehow haha

Sore as a mother... Didn't think I would have time to play rest of week so knocked out 54 straight last night. Loved the course

Wow, what a difference a day makes. While I wouldn't claim that everything was working with my swing today, compared to my last round I felt like I could be playing in the real thing. My irons were much more solid and though there were a few issues with my driver I still managed to keep the ball in play and even hit a few solid drives.

The real story though was my pitching game. I had a number of shots from 15-50 yards that got close enough for gimme and that can help any round. End result was two bogeys on each side and a lone birdie on 14 led to a very nice 75 which was 17 strokes better than round 1. Hopefully we see more of this in round 3 rather than a reversion to how I played in round 1.

Looking forward to watching these holes during the real tournament and seeing how some of the pros play them as compared to how I did.

Nice, that first round was a tough one. I hope to get in one or two rounds today. I had a couple of good practice rounds with one exception. I accidentally hit concede hole ( in beta ) when I was exiting the game. It gave me a 12. I will try not to do that when playing the tournament. I still shot a 78 on that round. I can see some rounds in the 60's on this course. It is short and it looks like they flattened out the greens a bit. I also love watching the pros play the same course as us even if ours is shorter.

As ks-man said what a difference a day makes. I felt so good with how I played in the first round. Played like complete hooey IRL during last night's scramble. Came in before work this morning to knock out round two and was playing just as poorly. But with that being said I was two rolls of the ball from birdie on 18 to tie my round one score. Missed a couple of other putts right at the hole. Can't believe I scored like that, but I will definitely take it and move on. If I can ever find some consistency my game is finally going to turn the corner. But I'm still waiting :-).

Played some of my best golf over those three rounds! 70-72-74. On #7 in the third round I hit what I thought was right down the middle (hit the middle of my net) but it went left in the water. I had tree trouble after my drop so I had to layup. Then I shanked my 4th lol. Made triple.

Can some please explain when you chip or putt within gimme range and you have less than 4 feet it appears to be assuming you will 2 putt from that close?

I had at least 4 holes in my first round where this occurred. I played like crap so it wouldn't have made a difference however it made it worse!

What version are you using and what is your gimme setting. If you are using 2.9, you need to set it to distance and 2 yards.

I'm pretty sure that isn't what I saw.

If I chipped with in a few feet on the 4th shot of a par 4 it would give me a 6. This occurred at least 4 times today where I didn't even have an opportunity for a bogey. What am I missing here?

There was a bug in gimmes that is fixed in the current update..... available very soon. Gimmes should be set to distance and 2 yards in 2.9. With 2.9.6 you can either set it to distance and 2 or Gimme.... which is now 2 yards. With a gimme, it is plus one stroke. There is a little more to it with the new update.

How do I determine what version I have. I didn't notice anything different so I'm assuming it isn't the updated version. All I know is I putted pretty well today despite the rest of my issues and I probably lost 4-6 strokes because of this issue.

Start TGC. In the start up screen the version is in the corner. Yours should say 2.9

Also, go to settings, gameplay, gimmies and make sure it doesn't say on green.

It appears in settings I had distance set and distance of 2 set.

Is this the correct setting or do I want gimme?

Looks like I have 2.9.4 version.

Edited : I thought the setting should be distance and 2 but having read Keither's earlier post I think it implies that gimme does the same thing. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Yep, you have the wrong setting checked. It happened to me as well, i was getting extra strokes added when i shouldn't have.
