Guessing it is too late to change this to the 2016 version of Pinehurst that was updated by CLV to include pinestraw. I thought I did mention that on the Spring Tour thread...

Played Round 1 of the AT&T Byron Nelson last night. We're playing it at Pinehurst although it is the older version rather than the updated one which includes pine straw.

I played pretty well and felt I swung better than my 83 indicated. So many times I feel that I played worse than my score so I guess I was due for this. I really struggled with my putting speed and hope the do better in round 2.

I tried some suggestions earlier on putting - setting zero on ProTee and opted for 10 on stimp for TGC settings. I had a nightmare with putts. Dropped it to stamp 9 for the second round and didn't do much better. Also found I gently dropped off so many greens from approach shot and ended up with that 12yd chip uphill onto the green!! Definitely a course where I wouldn't have wanted to record the language I used

Well I played round one with a stimp of 11. I was trying to get close to Perfect Golf. I think 11 was a little too slick. I knew I should have played a practice round or at least a few holes, but dummy me just jumped right in. Stupid mistake and it cost me dearly. Finished +16. I knew this was going to be a difficult course for me anyway because of my driver. I played a new Grenade in this first round instead of my normal Callaway XR. Still all over the place. Had to play out of the woods on probably 5-6 holes.

Changed my stimp back to 9. I think that is probably more in line with PG. We'll see in round two. I may end up losing my Top 10 tour status after this week :-(.

Hmmmm. Not sure I understand why we're playing the 2014 version considering CLV released his new version for Pinehurst all the way back in December.

Found that 9 was perfect compared to my birdie ball mat. in fact on an 8-10 foot putt ball was dropping in mu mat hole and on the screen at the same time!!

I changed mine to 9 as well. Haven't played yet. Changed it at the end of the round last night.

How are you changing the greens speed? I feel mine is way off and killing my scores

Make sure TGC game and launcer app are not running.

                  Open this file:

                  C:\ProgramData\ProTee United\TGC Simulator\TGCSim_Data\Server\server_Data\config.tx t

And change "Green Stimp" value. I think it defaults to 6 or 7.

When I installed my update there was a shortcut I think called settings that opens up a Notepad document where the very bottom has green speed. You change the number and save the document and it changes the green speed. You can also access it in a new settings window that was created with the new update as well. You have to click the server button to turn it off and then hit the settings button which opens up that Notepad document. Make the change. Then click the server button to turn it back on.

For some reason that has not worked for me. Even with the game/server off, there is a red X mark in the settings icon, and I cant click on it.

                  Win 10 pro

Probably some kind of security restriction with windows / UAC, as its opening a file in "ProgramData" (which I think has some kind of special security).

I have Win10 although I don't know which version they used. They were supposed to put Win7 in. It was a custom build. But they but 10 in instead. Haven't had any problems with it.

Hey guys, first post here. Been lurking and following the tour for the last three or four months now. So fun to watch yall's full round recordings. It's keeping me from going crazy while I wait to move into a new place with a spare bedroom here in 6 weeks.

Quick question, I am seeing a lot of short courses, and I am wondering what y'all about whether it would be worth it to try and compete on the tour when I know my ceiling will only be tall enough to swing long irons. My longest club I will comfortably hit will probably be my 4 iron which is a 195-215 carry club based on ball, strike, and shape.

Doesn't cost anything but time, so might as well join in!

Played much better in my second round culminating in a solid +4 score. I really like Pinehurst (went there on an outing in 2005 or 2006) and this is like my fourth or fifth time playing it in the game. The 2016 update definitely looks better with the addition of pinestraw but this once still is very enjoyable to play.

Just shot a +8 practice round. Pretty nice course.

Hit a 3 hybrid from 218 yds to about 4 feet for a gimmie eagle on one of the par 5s.

Nice shot. I did the same thing, I think it was on the backside, fairly shorter par 5, wonder if it was the same hole. Pin was up front and mine bounced up close to it.
