Going forward ProTee is implementing a new handicap system. Here comes the transparency.
The handicap committee consists of mthunt, keither5150 and bubba22. We are also the tournament committee. We pick the courses. The three of us will monitor scores, handicaps and even game play to see rewinds being used ect. Obviously, being caught cheating will be dealt with.
As you've likely seen, there is more live scoring online for tournaments. ProTee is changing the way scores are recorded which will allow for a lot of things. Part of this allows for handicaps to become automatic. They will update after each tournament. Everyone will use the following formula:
USGA Handicap Calculation
1] (Score - Course Rating) x 113 / Slope Rating
2] Slope Rating default = 113
3] Tour Committee provide custom slope rating for course before tournament starts, otherwise default = 113
4] Minimum rounds played for Handicap = 5
5] (Sum of differentials / number of differentials) x 0.96
6] best 10 of your last 20 will count
7] only tournament scores count toward handicap

5-6 rounds => Use 1 lowest differential
7-8 rounds => Use 2 lowest differentials
9-10 rounds => Use 3 lowest differentials
11-12 rounds => Use 4 lowest differentials
13-14 rounds => Use 5 lowest differentials
15-16 rounds => Use 6 lowest differentials
17 rounds => Use 7 lowest differentials
18 rounds => Use 8 lowest differentials
19 rounds => Use 9 lowest differentials
As you can imagine, a lot of handicaps are about to go down.

. Thanks for doing this. It is good to see what my sim handicap really is and how it is trending. Which, right now, is not so good.
