  • Some Newbie Tour Questions

Haven't experimented with online play yet, but this seems to be a whole other level to TGC!

    1. Is it possible to have multiple local players compete in the public tour or is everything is linked to only my user id? I'm thinking of extending my summer golf league into the winter here.
    2. Is it possible to create a local non-published tour that can be played locally? I couldn't seem to find my locally created test tour when I went to the play menu.
    3. What happens if you miss some rounds of the tour? I travel quite a bit for work.

I entered the SIM golf world in May and only been using TGC since June so I will give your questions a shot - but could be wrong.

Number 3 - no problem. You just will not earn any points or money (all not real) for the weeks you do not play.

Number 1 - I do not think so - I think it is one user ID per player. So if two folks wish to compete - need two copies of TGC and their own sim.

Number 2 - when you write locally do you mean offline (not connected to internet) Do not know.

      As far as I know......

1# They can compete but only you will be on the leaderboard and have a scorecard on the tour website.

#2 You can create a local event with up to 4 players. However, I don't think the system saves anything that guest players do at this time. I have not tried this but currently, if you have to restart the game, the guest player is lost. This would mean that multi-day events won't work as well with guest players. You could print your scorecards after each round if you like. Ball data is collected for guest players but stats are not.

#3 Everyone will wonder where you have gone

I agree with the above. Do join the tour. Its very fun. We can allow more than 1 tour player per unit/liscence however they would need to send in their scores for the tourney to be manually entered. The issue is that the stats of those extra players is not tracked and saved so we can not monitor their rounds. So yes it's possible to have multiple tour players per liscence but it takes more work manually and is not as well regulated so we have to decide as a tour if that's acceptable.
