I typically just sort by gross on those leaderboards and I don't see why a leaderboard that automatically defaults to gross sorting wouldn't work. Looks good to me. I think the main thing is just tracking points/money list by gross results in addition to net results like Bubba had mentioned. I know that's more to keep up with, not sure how hard that would be.

what ever works to make sure that all can compete together and its fair to the low handicap as well as the high handicap, get all your thoughts out there get buy in and then implement. All that matters is that at the end of the season that my $500,000.00 check is in the mail from Protee for my winnings........

Hey I'm all in favour of a gross leaderboard, but you might find out that 4 or five low handicappers end up winning all the tournaments, whereas net wise the wealth might be shared a bit more.

I think that we should have a handicapped leaderboard and a gross leaderboard. And...... like mmlincoln suggested.... +2 and less handicapped players play in the gross. Everyone else plays in the net. If there are enough players, you can divide the net into an "A" division and a B division. Your goal then would be to climb the ranks and make it to the show....... and hopefully stay there. Just over a year ago I started with a 14 handicap. Now I am a 1.7. A lot of that is learning the short game within TGC but I have had major improvement over this last year. I just shot a 77 and wasn't too happy with the round. A year ago, I would have framed that scorecard. I think that a poll may be in order.

The gross leaderboard will be an addition to what we already have. We can display the gross leaderboards and count the points and earnings seperately. Then its upto you which leaderboard (gross or net) you value more. So you can lose big time against a higher handicapper net but make great profits gross... Sounds good?

This makes the most sense to me. Counting the points and money separate for each is all we really need. Then both will be available for all to see. Thanks!

Yeah, I think two leaderboards is the way to go for now. I would say the winner should get full points in both categories if they happen to win both. I kinda like the idea of have to "earn" a seat in the Gross league but that would be more for incentive to get better than really solve anything. It will be interesting to see how the two boards compare. It should certainly give the low handicappers some recognition for solid play that they may not be getting on the handicap board.

Maybe require a minimum handicap in order to get listed on the gross leaderboard? Great incentive to try to get better. Just a thought.

What would be the purpose of preventing a high handicapper from playing gross? What if they just prefer playing gross regardless of their handicap or chance of winning? Not everyone likes handicap tours so restricting it would just seem to reduce choice for no (good?) reason.

Agree 100%. I played sim golf 1 year ago for the first time and must have been playing around 24. Playing much better now but always wanted to be measured against the best. NET and GROSS is the way to go.

Love the idea of earning a spot on the gross board.

I'd like to add one thing. The new handicap system is working very well IMO. I had the lowest handicap in the last event and won the net. That wasn't possible on the old system.

Perhaps a a gross tournament now and then would be good. In order for it to be fair I think you'd need two sepperate tours. Gross and Net. If we have gross and net in each tornament with points/ money for 1st, 2nd, ECT, in both gross AND net, I gaurentee the tour leader will come from the gross side.

                        add a round.

ie...play two rounds and qualify for net. play 3 and qualify for gross leader board

makes it harder, more interesting and exactly the same...all in one.

I don't quite understand what the issue is with what Protee proposed. Nothing is changing, just simply adding a gross season long point and money category. If you want to see who's leading the net side, you click on that. If you want to see who's leading the gross category, now it will be there too. The handicap calculations are no question much better and quite good. But just like in real life, lower handicaps are behind the 8 ball in most tournaments (not all). Your ceiling is simply lower when you're having to shoot 2 or 3 under just to shoot even par net. It's just much harder to go low compared to what a mid handicap might be able to shoot net. Would be nice for those of us interested to be able to compete straight up without handicaps.

Vincent, I'm a big big proponent of flights in real golf. I rarely play in anything handicapped except men's night and my member guest then it's for fun. I only ever played open tournaments. I agree with you.

reading everything again, I think Bubba suggested it would be a sepperate tour winner.
