Tour handicap and TGC handicap are different. Your TGC handicap gets calculated from all your TGC rounds you played. Tour handicap gets calculated from tour rounds only. I have a 13.1 tour handicap and I think arround 25 TGC handicap. That's because i played alot of Long difficult courses outside the tour.

Did I mention that I hate putting with ST. I couldn't hit the hole if there was a hole beside the hole. I'm an excellent putter IRL.

Ask your fellow skytrakers...... Most of them seem to putt ok......they can probably give some ball placement tips or setup tips. I think that Vincentvega has a skytrak..... He shoots in the 60's so it must be possible.

I am assuming that your are Longhorn???? I looked it up.... you are a 9.1 but it won't count without shot recording turned on. ProTee has been changing the handicaps of players who wander onto the tour without knowing the rules. One of the rules is to have shot recording turned on. They usually change them to -31. PM Protee if you need some help.

Helluva day Longhorn. Looks like they fixed your cap. I'd say take it to the 19th hole and call it a day...

Well I just played my first round with my new Cobra One Length irons. The round was not spectacular but solid for me. It is long as well and I needed to hit several 5 irons as approach shots. These were easier to hit than my previous ones. After a few rounds I hope to be more consistent with my ball striking. Time will tell if they are just a gimmick or a real benefit for me. The distances were ok as well. Too early to tell about gapping. after a few rounds I should have that down.
One rewind on a 0.5 inch chip shot.

That's cool boerdoc. I'm interested to hear how you like them. Are the lofts changed to accommodate for different shaft length? I'm ignorant on the whole deal.

I do like the idea of the plane being the same.

My best tournament ever! Had to take 2 rewinds in the first round because the shots were too good. 200 mph drives, works both ways, couldn't in good conscience take those shots .

Good job Bnorman58..... you are actually leading the net board. The top two players don't have shot recording turned on.

I thought it was said that you'd be removed from the leader board if you didn't have shot record on? It won't matter much for me as I post my 3rd mediocre round, but it obviously has an impact.

Thanks, started 5 over after 4 in the last round too. Mental fortitude is not one of my strengths when it comes to golf. Yesterday I'd like to think I showed some, even though it's a for fun tournament, the competing makes it so cool. I hope that fortitude carries over to my real game. Yeah, saw those guys didn't have shot recording on. It would be nice to see my same at the top of the leaderboard in case it's not there at the end but I guess let them enjoy their fleeting moment

I see some good scores on the leaderboard this week. I had some software issues in my first 9 holes that cost me 7 strokes, but no excuses... It still didn't play well enough after I got it working to keep up with the big dogs. Hitting it terrible right now! I think I saw every greenside bunker on the course.

Keither... How did you post three straight 71s... That's crazy consistent! Good tourney!

Thanks Tom. My short game saved me a couple of times. I still had too many bad shots though. I try not to let the bad shots bother me anymore... Take a deep breath and onto the next shot. It helps when my golfing buddies aren't there to laugh at the bad shots. I also have been making less mistakes with the putter. I do this drill once a week...... find a flat putting green..... and putt 5 feet, 10,15,20,25.... all the way up to 75 feet. And if you miss a distance by a lot......do that distance again. Then I putt from 75 all the way back to 5. I had two rewinds with the putter..... I couldn't figure out why the ball was going over 20mph from 9 feet away..... It was a ball laying in the FOV.... with my system I have to keep an eye out for that. I also had 3 phantom shots at the beginning of the 3rd round.... I might have been picking up balls..... The shots never registered in the game but it showed 3 shots in data before I started play. With my system sometimes, the data is sent when the game is paused.... If I pay attention, I can go many rounds without the need for a rewind.

Good advice! I'm new to TGC, and the putting is definitely suspect for me. I rarely even hit the hole from 10' and beyond. I bet I missed 15 putts from 8' to 15' in this week's tourney. In fact, I never made a birdie that wasn't a gimme, and those birdies were very few. I honestly think my mat has something to do with it. I have a Real Feel mat. I love it for the feel and durability, but it does get impressions in it. The ball often goes offline from these impressions. The GC2 is great but reads the ball path for about two feet. So, I'm thinking the impressions in the mat make a big difference. I've considered building a putting mat with a piece of thin plywood and a piece of felt to obtain a true roll, but just too lazy to do it. I can't blame it all on putting or the software issues I mentioned earlier... I hit the ball terrible! I was in the left bunker the whole tourney. I hate the lefts!!! I understand why Hogan said he needed two left hands to hold back his right. I've been fighting the lefts for two weeks. I was really hitting it well a few weeks back. I can feel the club face slamming closed, but I'm having real issues trying to correct it. Keep up the good play! I'll figure out my issues and give you some competition soon! I guess that's just golf... Same story or me for 30 years. You just have to love the game, for go crazy!

Those greens were tough! If I wasn't within 10 feet, I was better off not on the green and pitching. Good thing about this course was no water, even on 18. Exact opposite of last week. It was crazy having to re hit rather than drop.

Bnorman58..... I agree....number 3 , you are better off in the left rough than the middle of the green. Nice improvement B58........ feels great. During the last 6 weeks, I have averaged 71 strokes for tournament play.. That is down probably 4 or 5 strokes compared to the previous 6 months. It's exciting to see measurable improvement. I have had rounds in the 60's before but last week was the first time I went back to back in tour play. And then to follow it up with 3.... 71's feels great. I like the next course. The par 5's are all good scoring holes.... and then there is that driveable par 4 ....#17 I think. That will be fun.

Tom, I am lucky that my system reads the putts ahead of the hitting area. About 18 inches a head of the tee. I have laminate flooring that is protected by 2'x2' padded carpet....almost like a fatigue mat. On top of the carpet I have automotive carpeting.... that gives a good roll. I am 11 feet from the screen. If I putt 10 feet in the basement , it goes 10 feet on a flat green. Putting on TGC is nothing short of great. Everyone would be well served to set up the best putting area possible. With TGC you just can't blindly look at the elevation.... you need to check where the slope is..... close to the hole as opposed to close to ball location will react totally different. Just like IRL, you have to make sure that you don't run it through the break. At first I was reluctant to join the tour and set up a putting area.... now I am so glad that I did. It has really helped my putting stroke...... Now if my local course would put those green lines on the green showing slope..... I would be golden.

Personally I love the putting in TGC with Skytrak. If I have a strong area within my golf game, it is feel and touch in the short game area. Ball striking sucks and has held me back for a lifetime. The only thing I can say about putting with Skytrak in TGC is that green speeds change every week, play more break and work it back from there, and setup matters for start line. When I have it setup correctly, I can call a made putt just as I can a full shot.

My suggestions would be to have an alignment rod down for a putting line, aim with your cursor, and roll straight putts for everything, then get your speed dialed in. I love Keithers drill, I just wish I had the time for it.

I pay close attention to start line in TGC when putting. I want a zeroed out start line always. Setup affects this and a big factor can be Launch and your putting surface. When the hitting area for SkyTrak gets worn, you will experience offline start angles. That coupled with launch can wreak havoc on your putting.

Just my 2 cents on putting in TGC with SkyTrak, hopefully can help rectify some frustrations...

I have my skytrak sitting on rails because of that very reason. The rails are one foot Long and perfectly levelled . I hit my Driver from the hole with the tee holder in the cce, my Irons about 5 inches ahead and putter fom the putting mat in front of the cce. works great .

I like the setup that Sascha has in place. Make the putting spot the most forward to keep it pristine. If you wanted to get real fancy, you get install one of those putting boards in that area and really get great feeback before the shot registers. I definitely need to work on my turf setup. My current one just isn't sustainable.

I got stuck after finishing the first round. After hitting "return to main menu" it locked up. I had to kill tgc but when I start back up it puts me back on the tee at the 18th. When I hit the tee shot it freezes after my ball stops rolling. I have killed tgc and tried it again multiple times with the same result. I guess I won't be finishing this tournament. Was playing like poo anyways.

All of my Rounds are not showing up in the Tournament Standings. I played all three rounds and I see them in TGC, but only 2 rounds show. Same thing happened in
the last 3 rounder at KPC. That never got resolved so i didn't get credit for that tournament either 😕
