  • ReShade Baby!

Shardak Hey there, I moved the topic away from TGC2019. So I got ReShade to this point in the screenshot, but no farther. I hit home key to remove this ReShade box. (is that wrong does it turn it off?) Then start TGC. Shift +F2 does nothing when Im in- game. What do you think?Click image for larger version

3on3putt I just downloaded and got this to work. Make sure you you apply the program to the golf.exe file in the Game19 and not the Game folder. When you launch TGC2019 it's obvious it's installed because you will see the reshade menu.

So I clicked "browse" to find the game and chose "TGC interface." Is that not what I should've selected?

  • #47
3on3putt Nope. try the following path:

    ProgramData > ProTeeUntied > TGC Simulator > TGCSim_Data > Game19 > golf.exe

After the game is loaded you press the Home button on your keyboard to select the Reshade options. I must it looks pretty good. Very different but definitely deeper and more vibrant colors.

Okay so click "browse" and then look for "ProgramData" and then go from there? Or should I not be clicking "browse" at all?

That's because the ProgramData folder is most likely a hidden folder in Windows. You need to make it visible first.

So before you even try to apply Reshade, go to into your folder explorer in Windows and click "C:" (or whatever drive TGC is installed on) and then at the top click "View" and check off "Hidden items". After that you can try again and this time when you click "browse" the ProgramData folder should be visible.

Okay I will give this a try. Going to take a sim room lunch break in a couple hours lol. I will report back. Thanks!

    Got it to work! (finally)

Thanks JayJo13 I used that formula you gave to make it happen. Also had to rename the file from "golf" to "golf.exe"

I only enabled the 6 filters that were recommended a couple pages back by Mike80. Is there any disadvantage to just enabling them all? Would that just crush the performance or something?

Any other recommended filters besides those?

I thought on the menu page and the shot data display it looks worse. Very high in contrast. So at first I was skeptical. But then I played a quick 3 holes and the difference on the actual course was stunning. So much more vibrant. Not bad for a free download!

I agree, the opening screen and shot data screens are too dark, but the on-course play looks much better and not so washed out - especially on the impact screen. I just played around with the settings until I liked the look. The HDR one makes a huge difference.

I installed last night and all I can say is WOW! I played a few holes afterward to see if it affected play and I can not tell a difference in the flow of the game. I am going to continue to trial it, one nice thing is that as you click each option off and on you instantly see the affect on your screen. I am wondering what happens if I turn the game graphics down while running Reshade? Turning graphics down may speed things up while the Reshade makes up for any lost visuals. I am also wondering about courses that are dark, it does seem like Reshade may make these even darker, I struggled playing Cabot Cliffs previously because the image was very dark on my SIM screen and my PC.

I installed it yesterday before a round with some friends. I set it to the correct path as mentioned in previous posts and selected the 10/12 option and it works! I played with several options before the boys came over and WOW!!! What a difference Reshade makes! I would give it a try if you haven't yet. The "Home" keystroke works just fine.

I also set a key to toggle Reshade off and on, so you can view the opening screens and settings screens as normal. Open up a SIM course and hit the toggle button and instant Reshade on the course. You can do this from the Reshade setting screen.

jpotas (or anyone who knows) .... how did you set a master key to toggle reshade on and off? I saw in the reshade settings that you could set a keyboard shortcut for a few different things but didn't see any that were for just turning the entire software on or off.

Working right now but from memory I believe it is on the 2nd or 3rd settings screen, where it shows setting keys as a shortcut, I believe the top one is for toggling on and off. You just have to make sure that it is not a key used in the game, I made the mistake the first time. I ended up using the number zero, works great. When I open TGC, Reshade is running, I hit the zero key and it shuts off. I prefer it off when in the home screens, as soon as I start a round and I am on the first tee I hit my zero key and it turns on. Works perfect.

I will try to get a screen shot tonight.

3on3putt, here is a pic of the toggle setting. From looking at it I am not sure if it turns the program on and off or just turns the affect on and off. Meaning that the program is still running in the background.

Well decided to try this today and actually got it working thanks to these posts, I do have 1 issue though, an earlier posts said to use these plug ins:

        Colourfulness
        - FakeHDR
        - Luma Sharpen
        - Clarity
        - Vibrance
        - Levels

i can't find colorfulness, clarity or vibrance.

I'm assuming I missed downloading these somewhere as there was a page that listed packages or something during the install i think the top 2 were check marked so just went with that, anyway is there a way to install these others after the fact now that i installed it?

I do have to say that even though i don't have them all, WOW, what a difference really makes the colors POP.

solved my issue, all i had to do was run the installation program again and it gives the option to update or uninstall.

This application is most definitely worth your time, makes everything pop with the right filters selected to 'ON'. Thanks for the heads-up!

Does anyone know which plug in would turn the contrast down? I like how the reshade makes the colors pop but it seems to get really high contrast and gives it more of a fake look. I tried turning down the contrast on my projector but it didn't help much.

Downloaded reshade V4.9 and when I point it to golf.exe this is the dialog box I get. Anyone know which one I click?

Posted this in another location but thought I would try here as well...

I am having some major issues properly installing reshade for TGC 2019. I have read through countless posts, done endless searches, and watched every youtube video I can but can't seem to get it. I seem to keep getting past one roadblock just to run into the next one.

Once I download reshade and I go to "point it to where it needs to go..." I get all the way to this location (C:\ProgramData\ProTee United\TGC Simulator\TGCSim_Data)

I then click on the game folder, or game1, or game19, and in NONE of them do I have a "golf" or "golf.exe" file. In all honesty I think it was there originally but in my endless attempts to get reshade installed I may have deleted it. I have "searched" for it over and over and can not seem to relocate it. If anyone has encountered a similar issue and has a step by step process how to resolve it I would be forever indebted to you. I am, admittedly, computer illiterate, so please as Michael Scott says "explain it to me like I'm 5." Thank you!

Are you still able to play tgc, if so the files not gone. Maybe the file is hidden, google how to show hidden files if that’s the case

              • #59
Yes - still able to play TGG. I have done everything I know how to do in order to show hidden files and folders including changing a couple of settings for it. I have also searched for the file in the C: drive but it does not appear anywhere.

If I redownload it will I lose everything that I have now in the game (stats, favorited courses, etc)? And in order to do that should I just delete the TGC programs and then reinstall them? Didn't know if this would cause a problem with my license I purchased or not through Skytrak. Thank you for your help!

I think he probably meant re-download reshade. I had issues getting reshade to install as well and I think I downloaded it 3-4 times before I finally did it correctly.

I have unhidden the files for that folder and it (File in "Golf" folder) isn't there, that is the issue I am running into. I am fine on the reshade download, I just do not have the file that everyone says to "point" it to, and can not locate it via hidden files, file searches, etc.

              • #60
You have to look into the TGC19 folder, for golf19.exe, if memory serves me correct

I have looked in every folder, believe me. I have checked boxes to show hidden folders, I have searched in the folder as well as the C drive and it isn't there. Anyone know if I delete TGC 2019 from my laptop and reinstall it if I will lose all my statistics, favorited courses, etc? At this point that is the only way I know how to continue unless others have any answers.
