  • TGC software

So I been reading a lot of posts and there's still one thing I can find to answer my question. I'm planning on buying a gc2 or a ST. So with that I would need the software so I can play golf courses. Where would I go ahead and buy the software for tgc because I think that's what most people are playing. I'm sure it been talked about. Just having problem trying to find the thread to answer my questions.

For SkyTrak it will be available soon through SkyTrak. For GC2 I think you go to Swingsense.com or Proteeunited.com will be able to direct you to the right place.

I see the Swingsense website is no longer selling TGC software, only the ProTee package. Caught a post on GolfWRX that this was done also. Can a GC2 unit use the ProTee software, or are there additional sources of TGC package. If not then the remaining source of software for a GC2 is Foresight themselves. Thnks for thoughts and input

TGC is part of the ProTee Golf 2.0 software package. Read the ProTee Golf 2.0 product description on swingsense. It works with GC2.

When watching videos of TGC online. If the video doesn't have a golfer on screen does that mean its someone actually hitting the golf ball? How can I tell if the person is using a mouse, Xbox or PS4 controller?

If you do not see a golfer then its probably someone hitting. In a turn based game your opponent(s) will also show as golfers.

Is it possible to play on a sim against a pc player?

No that is not possible. It would be unfair. Every platform (Sim, PC, Xbox, PS4) has its own online platform.

Looks like it was a while ago this was discussed. So there might be new info.
I have a Skytrak and soon a GC2 and want to play TGC. For Skytrak it's clear I have to wait for Skytrak to offer it because that is the only source.
                    For GC2 it's a bit unclear what I need.
If we assume I bought the 995$ TGC package from Swingsense and I have a GC2 + whatever PC Bluetooth dongle is recommended. It looks like I will need something called GSX.
Where do I get GSX and does it cost anything?
Another way of asking the same question is.

GSX is free and can be downloaded on this site. Look through the GC2 thread

I have seen that thread but as far as I understand it's for ProTee TGC customers only. Makes sense but question remains if it's enough to buy the TGC 995$ package or if any other parts or needed?

It now appears on the swingsense sight that ProTee is now selling a stand alone version of TGC for $995 - not just the combo pack of TGC and ProTee 2.0 for $1595. I think that's a new thing. Is there any reason for GC2 owners to have the ProTee 2.0 software?

I thought they said that Skytrack won't use Protee 2.0, perhaps they are setting up for the release?

Guys gripe about price of sim software so it may be just another option that you all have now. You can get one or both. For me a couple years back I was thrilled when I found out I could buy the entire Protee course pack and play it on my GC2 for $2000. I jumped on that option and loved all the courses and still like to play them today. Then when they released TGC they offered it to their already existing customers for free. So in a way I paid $2000 for all the Red Chain Protee courses and TGC and I still think it was a great deal.

Why I would still use the Red Chain courses, is that you can practice any hole, from anywhere, and it has multiple tee's. These have mainly real courses and then some fictitious courses but the hills and mounds would be more accurate for the real courses than what you might get from a guy who made one in TGC. Some of the TGC designers are getting very good at research and trying to match layouts as close as one could without computer mapping but how do you really know.

What I would do is find out if the combo pack of TGC and Protee needs to be purchased at the same time or can you buy TGC now and later add on Protee if you wanted.
