was i not suppose to install the .41 quick update?

Hello- I installed the 3.05i latest interface and then went through the install notes on the forum here and added the 41 update for redchain software..
(I am installing everything fresh to a new computer)
So I check and the settings pgs file states its running 3.03f... while the actual interface while running is at 3.05i.
im a bit confused.

No problems here. We do recommend you update to the latest interface 3.05l available here: http://csc.protee-united.com/entries...-05l-available

For TGC make sure you run version 2.7.1.

You should edit your settings file manually. Due to Windows security settings, your settings file might be stored in a virtual directory. Use ALT-E in the interface to edit the settings file. This way you will be sure you always edit the correct one.

Yes, I have installed the tgc 2.7.1 and also the interface version 3.05i - I remember earlier installs where the 'quickupdate' 37...38..39...now 41 would change the version number in the settings file.... I installed quickupdate version 41 after the interface version 3.05i was installed and the settings file states it as 3.03f... I haven't edited any settings yet.

THARN, the quick updates will not make any changes to the settings file.

You need to edit the settings file by pressing ALT - E in the interface. Do not use notepad or any other editor.

ok- I haven't messed around with anything in the setting yet- I remember before on first install a couple years ago the updates were important. Maybe a note should be posted on the sticky in these forums that they are not needed.. I am still going to use pro tee courses especially for practice, so just to be sure- the latest interface works the same with pro tee courses and TGC?
