  • Debugging Odd Shots

I am still working out issues with my H and V cameras. While playing 18 holes, every so often I get a sim result that is totally wrong (ball goes opposite direction of actual shot or only goes 2 inches or ...). How do you debug this? Is there some setting to make it save the results of the H and V cams for every shot? Any log files that can be consulted? I would like to alt-tab out of the game and look at what actually happened so I could try to fix it.

I will try to post these things you asked for on Thursday night. My friend does not have internet to the simulator computer yet(has to dig when the ground has thawed out) so I will have to extract them and post on my computer.

why not use wireless internet? or you could use the plug in outlet internet. I use that one and it works great. No drop in speed up to 100mgbs

I am afraid there has been a sudden death in my friends family so this project is on hold for a few days. Cheers.

I went to my friends place last night but did not get any screen shots. We went into the v cam setup and hit many shots with many adjustments until we where getting a ball streak reading every time on all clubs except the lob wedge which read correctly about 9 out of 10 times. We then went to practice mode on the 18th hole at the blue monster. My friend who usually hits a slight fade was hitting slight pull bulletts. His club path was approximately 2 degrees in to out with a 1 degree open face. Hmmm. My turn. High fades (always hit a slight pull draw in real life) club path 2 degrees out to in and 1 degree open at impact. By the way I had my swing byte attached to my club at the same time. My swing byte software showed a slight pull draw where the pro tee showed a high fade. Also any time we hit a fat shot with an iron (8 iron in this test) we got an EXTREMELY high slice (moon ball) with club head speeds approaching 200 miles per hour. Hmmmm. Your Thoughts? Will try to get screen captu

I wouldn't trust the swingbyte. The ball flight will be pretty accurate if your club readings and camera measurements are accurate.

Post screen captures of everything and we need to see your settings file. I can't tell you how many times I've remoted in and saw all kinds of install issues.

The 200 mph 8 iron is a strange one. Sounds like the Vcam read the club instead.

I do not totally trust the swingbyte, however I hit about 4000 balls a year at a range and get the same results while using it. I will post these things when i get a chance. My friend is in the process of getting internet to his garage so he can have protee remote in. No club I can swing goes over 102 mph. Btw I was once in Florida at a golf shop looking to buy a hybrid golf club and there sensor based system kept telling me I was hitting a fade I refuted this with the sales man and he insisted the simulator was accurate so we went out back to the outdoor range where I hit nothing but draws. He said it was the first time he had seen this. I believe the simulator determines any swing going outside in to be some sort of left to right shot. What really determines the path of the ball is the clubface angle relative to the swing path and not the aim line. Also we updated the interface which went fine then we updated the redchain using the download from this site and protee would not start.

You're jumping the gun Tony. Once you get the system set up right you will be amazed of the accuracy. Trust us on that. Something must be off giving you incorrect fade/ draw data and speeds. Or as is very typical, people tend to swing a bit differently at first as they adjust to looking down at the sensor banks combined with swinging indoors. Had this happen to one of my 0 handicap friends recently. And btw of course the makers of the system know to calculate side spin based on differential between swing path and face angle and that's how it is done. I can hit push fades with a 3 degree in to out path no problem. And vice versa pull draws with out to in swing. Patience my friend, get that internet going and get Protee remote support. You won't be disappointed.

I am afraid my posts are coming off wrong. i am simply pointing out my observations and asking for your thoughts. I do realize you can not help me until I give you the information you need. I do not own the system and only visit my friend on the weekends where he blames me for the problems with it. He is not at all technically minded and bought the system against my recommendation. Now it is on me to fix it with my limited knowledge. Every time I go there to do diagnostics he wants to play. I have since told him to get support from the manufacturer. Thank you guys.

Ok. Spent extensive time tweaking the simulator this weekend. Internet coming later this week. It plays pretty good for now except for a particular shot. Every time we hit down on the ball with any club we get a shot that goes incredibly high sometimes even backwards with clubhead speeds up to 200 mph. Has any body ever heard of this?

what vertical camera setting are you using PT1 or PT5. Also what club are you using that gets this reading?

Actually we are using pt4. We tried pt1 and pt5. We even turned off the v cam and still the same thing. It happens with any club as long as you hit down hard into the mat. So it shows up more in the wedges but it can happen when using a 3 wood or any club. We are going to have protee remote in when the internet comes. Just curious if anybody had heard of this.

I had the problem a lot with PT5 but not PT1. Didn't try 4. That is usually an issue of picking up the club in the follow through.

We notice it mostly on fat shots where the heel of the club hits the mat and shuts the club face down, the ball comes out low and left on the screen but the ball starts left and goes extremely extremely high and to the right in the software with rediculous club head speeds. So we tried hitting down but not fat and got similar results. It must be software related as the club cannot move that fast.
On another note when upgrading the interface do you guys uninstall the old and install the new? I did this but it seems to leave the old pgs file in the crotee interface folder and the new one shows up in the programs files x86/protee interface folder. Do you delete all folders after deletion? Or do you just install the new without uninstalling the old? Thank you.
