I posted about 4 comments on their Facebook posts. It probably won't due a darn bit of good but it makes me feel a little bit better that I can vent my frustrations to someone
Yes they have deleted my negative post on their facebook page. We need to write negative reviews about the company(the product is decent) on the online retailers you purchased the product from / amazon. Its going to have a significant monetary impact on their bottom line. Seems like thats all they care about. Hit them where it hurts people !!
Looks like a total cash grab by SkyGolf. Not the smartest idea to piss off all your existing customers and probably persuade any new ones to go another route, after reading about it here, BBB and other social media sites. Think this move will probably cost them more in the long run then what they were expecting to make.
Question. I'm not a sim guy, I use and really enjoy the Skytrak for practice. I use the range and the GIP package. Is this change only impacting sim users, or am i out an extra hundred bucks a year too?
This all makes me even more happy that I sent my skytrak back for a refund. The bad business practices and horrible customer service obviously has not changed in two years.
I have had ST for 4 months without SIM.
I was planning to purchase TGC and a computer sometime this year but this renewal fee increase totally changed my mind.
I won't purchase TGC until the renewal fee drops back to $99 or so...
$200 per year after ~$1000 for the software...is not how I would spend my hard earned money...
Good luck with the Skytrak...
He ain't coming around because he has no answers. SkyTrak is discovering they really screwed their customer base, and are probably scrambling to put some kind of positive spin on it. I expect him to come on here and tell us how great it is we all now get access to WGT!
One thing some people can do if they bought TGC within the last 60 days, is to contact your financial institution your debit/credit card is from, and request to do a dispute. I work in a financial institution and have just filed a dispute today under the category "Merchandise or Service not as described" i.e.A description of services paid for and expected to receive versus what was actually received.
I expected to receive my TGC software and for it to run under the GIP. It arrives and now I have to have the P&I package to use it.
Just had a Live Chat about returning my SkyTrak, seemed to ignore the fact that I don't have an iOS device and they think that WGT is worth paying double for even if you can't use it.
SC: Is there anything else I can help you with today?
ME: Not unless you have any explanations as to why the subscription was doubled in price? A lot of unhappy customers out there.
SC: Yes, our membership terms have changed now that we have added more features and have more simulations available.
ME: What extra features? WGT is in my opinion not an extra feature as I don't have an apple device. Nothing has been said about what else extra is being given for the new price.
SC: If you have an iOS compatible device, you’ll now be able to access the Closest to Hole Challenges at 19 WGT golf courses plus Full Course Play on 10 WGT Courses!
ME: How? I don't have an iOS device as just mentioned.
SC: Since the membership policy changed you will require to maintain the play and improve plan to use the PC compatible simulators version.
If you wish to return the device you will require to talk with the support team.
Well, I was about to shell out about $1K for a new gaming desktop, then another $1K for TGC, but I think now I will hold off and put that money towards lessons! Thanks Sytrak for saving me some money! What a bad business decision on their part.

Exactly the same postion I am in. Was waiting until next pay day to buy gaming PC and then put another $1K into SkyTrak's pocket. It has also saved me a couple of grand so I count myself somewhat lucky it happened now. I feel the pain of the others though having shelled out all that money only to be shafted by Skytrak like this.
I plan to return my Skytrak and go down the ES16 route now. Do ES have any yearly fees or is it a one off, plus the cost of TGC?
Just wanted to throw out that I was in contact with someone well before ST was ever launched. I reached out to that contact about what has occurred, the anger it has caused, the bad press that it's been generating and a possible resolution. They are aware of it and replied that something may come out soon along the lines of a grandfathered system. I gave them my expiration date which is only a couple weeks away and hoped they would have answer before then. I guess we shall see what comes from this, hopefully something good.
The subscription program sucks, but they could even go the route of what skycaddie did and offer a multi year deal to get back in line of the original $99 per year.
