I have only tried with it connected via USB. I took five shots in the ST app and it read all five. Switched to TGC and it only read two of ten.
SkyTrak has a lot of no reads

I think my unit was misaligned and not level. I fixed the level and it only missed three or four shots the rest of the round

I would have to agree with a lot of the posts on this thread. It seems the ST app works well for me and I normally have 0 issues with misreads while using the range, challenges, or game improvement features. I have done a few bag mappings and usually only get 1 or 2 misreads during one of those sessions. The range hardly ever misses.
The problem I have is that both JNPG and TGC constantly drop connection or something else is happening behind the scenes. Just to be clear, I have played while connected to USB, network mode, and direct mode. I've even used direct mode with the WiFi dongle so the ST is on it's own dedicated WiFi. I find it a bit embarrassing to have friends over and then have to fiddle with the "Arm Skytrak" button in JNPG or reset my unit in TGC. JNPG is what I normally use and it is usually good for the first few holes and then it drops a ridiculous amount for the rest of the round. It's very frustrating. I haven't really played with others lately due to the fact it's honestly just too much of a hassle trying to explain why it didn't read 5 drives in a row. As others have mentioned, I can't troubleshoot this myself or even understand what I can do to improve the quality.
Not sure if this is the norm and people are just dealing with it but I'm pretty disappointed that I spent good money to get two products that do not work with ST to the same standard as the ST app.

I’m using my Skytrak for the first time in 5 months. I plugged it into my house PC with the most updated software and tried changing it to direct mode. No luck. I had to do a paperclip reset.
I took it out to the garage and connected to direct mode to my iPad. With a 7 iron 2 out of 5 balls actually register. Sometimes it doesn’t read up to 4 in a row. I’m using the SkyTrak range.
My garage is pretty well lit with LED lights from Costco. Are there any troubleshooting checklists to make this thing work?

Does the red laser dot go out when you swing on these no-reads? Do you have it in a protective case? Is the dark plastic lens cover clean? Are you positioning the logo of the ball towards the unit? Do you have the tilt and roll zero’d out in the app? Is the bottom of the unit level with the top of your mat?
