  • Club data for SkyTrak and TGC

Is anyone out there who owns a SkyTrak AND an R-Motion AND TGC and would like to BETA test the club data integration?

    Please send me a PM.

  • #16
ProTee United I am using the Skytrak and Rmotion combo. Do I need to:

A: setup the length and loft of my clubs in the interface?
B: Do I have to pick the club I am hitting in TGC?

Or are those steps for the rmotion alone option. I have verified that my clips are on and facing correctly. But I am getting some odd data so far, mainly it is telling me an out to in path with an open face, on a shot that draws in TGC.. Any ideas?

Yes setup the length and loft and make sure you select the right club you're playing with in TGC, otherwise readings might be off.
If its consistently giving the wrong path, you might have to turn the attachment a little bit to the left or right.

Rapsodo I played 18 holes last night and had 16 shots where the Rmotion had 0's for path and face. Battery was fully charged and lights illuminated. Is this common? Also, Below is a snapshot of driver shots from the last 2 rounds, are they making sense to you? Do I need to adjust the sensor, if so, which way and how much? ProTee United

Do you think it failed to read or could they have been good swings, square clubface and straight path although maybe not with the spin reading? I think that would be 0,0 for both then. Driver though I think is not right. If you have a out to in swing and face more open than path, that should go right, but you have a negative side spin.

I finally played the Rmotion alone yesterday, and realized that I needed to turn the clips slightly left of what I perceive perpendicular to be. The readings now make sense and support the ball data from Skytrak.

Well I like to think I can swing with a square face and club, but definately know 16 times is quite a stretch! Plus as you said, the ball spin says otherwise. The path and face dont seem to make sense to me, but im not an expert on this subject either. Hoping some others can weigh in as well.

      Got a couple of questions

1:- When measuring the club length. You measure from the floor but whereabouts on the clip do you measure to (top, middle or bottom) for more accurate readings?

2:- When playing TGC through the R-motion/skytrak dashboard I can only access the offline courses. Do I need to apply for a new license key from protee?

3:- When playing TGC the swing path seems to be reversed as when I purposely bring the club head from the inside it shows a out to in path (I'm a lefty). I videoed a couple of swings on my phone which confirmed I was swinging in to out.

        1. Bottom would be ok.
        2. Something is wrong. If you have a full TGC license for ST you should be able to play online.
        3. Probably measurement is correct however representation is wrong. I will check with ProTee United.

I would recommend that you play the Rmotion alone by itself. That gives you a clear understanding or where your clip needs to be. Since it calibrates when you address the ball, I would imagine that most of us address the ball differently, and little personall adjustments are needed.

Rapsodo SkyTrak_Seth ProTee United I have a couple questions regarding R-Motion/Skytrak. I have a Skytrak and full TGC.

1- I see the RM data will be produced (read with) the TGC software. I am after the club data for practice/lessons. Will it work (or is it being looked at) with ST app software (driving range) or do I have to use TGC range to use RM data on practice?

2- I read somewhere that it may be an issue with juniors because of swing speed. Again, I only need swing path and club face. Will this work with a junior girl say about 15 years old. I can't see how it would not read swing path no matter what swing speed it was reading. Skytrak has all the rest of the data I'm after.

3- If I order R-motion now will you allow me to beta test with Skytrak. The Skytrak is just to good to not use, so I would prefer to not use RM stand along. The two together looks like they were made for each other. Well done. Just PM me if you politely want to say no!! Lol.

      Cheers

Are Club Speeds measured with the R-Motion & Skytrak combo? or is only path and face measured?

Great idea in theory, but I (and my customers) do not want to add an r-motion to each club, align it to make sure it's straight, hit their shot, remove it and put it on their next club, align it, hit a shot, etc, for 50+ shots. What if you have friends over to play? 😱 Am I missing something and wrong? Wouldn't it be easier/better use of time and resources to produce an hmt like add on and sell it for $1k-$1500?

IMO the only thing that is ideal for an accurate indoor solution is a GC2 with Trackman 4 indoor version. HMT stickers are a pain like RMotion holders and who wants to look at them on every club while you play? I use them but never in the summer. You can't leave the RMotion holders on when you play a real game. They'll have problems I. The bag. I have RMotion but I don't use it for club tracking but if I wanted to add club tracking for a small number rice just for indoor practice and didn't want to spend 30k maybe I'd settle for RMotion. It is only a small amount of money but you get what you pay for.

New stuff is being developed but I'm pretty sure nothing is coming for Skytrak. They didn't invent the Skytrak.

I just leave the sensor clips on 24/7. Once in a while they get caught up when pulling a club out of the bag, but if you do it slowly, its a non issue. It definitely isnt designed for commercial use, but works well in my situation. Sure an HMT type device would be nice, but have you seen the price tag on those? $300 to get club speed, path, and face is a hell of a value IMO..

You align the sensor clips only once then you move just the sensor. Your friends do not have to use the R-Motion. They just don't get any measured club data. With HMT your friends would need to put stickers on their clubs.
          Working...
