    SkyTrak Golf Simulators -- Price/Value Comparison/Questions

I’m in the process of upgrading my OptiShot 2 with SkyTrak. I have a room in my house with an impact screen, computer, and projector. All that is missing is a good simulator. I use my simulator with my daughter who is a good Jr. golfer. I’m trying to be aware of budget but also not skimp. A fine line for sure. So… I’m a little concerned (and confused) about which golf simulator package to get with my SkyTrak. I've read other threads here and if I had to summarize they seem to say "They are all good, it just depends on what you're looking for." It seems to me simulator software is an important decision to get maximum enjoyment and value of SkyTrak. So I created this table which accounts for a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) over 5 years (note the SkyTrak Sub$ and Simulator $ are total cost over 5 years):
Description Device Price SkyTrak Sub $ Simulator $ First Year Cost TCO Price/Yr
    Jack Nicklaus - Driving Range 1995.00 495.00 499.75 2193.95 2989.75 597.95
    Creative Golf 3-D - OneTime 1995.00 495.00 499.95 2193.99 2989.95 597.99
    World Golf Tour 1995.00 999.75 2194.95 2994.75 598.95
    The Golf Game OneTime 1995.00 495.00 795.00 2253.00 3285.00 657.00
    Jack Nicklaus - Basic 1995.00 495.00 999.75 2293.95 3489.75 697.95
    Creative Golf 3-D - Annual 1995.00 495.00 999.75 2293.95 3489.75 697.95
    Jack Nicklaus - Premium 1995.00 495.00 1249.75 2343.95 3739.75 747.95
    TruGolf - Annual 1995.00 495.00 1495.00 2393.00 3985.00 797.00
    TruGolf - OneTime 1995.00 495.00 1800.00 2454.00 4290.00 858.00
    Here are my thoughts:
    • Jack Nicklaus Driving range is out (we want to play)
    • Creative golf 3-D one-time purchase of $500.00 seems like a good value. Is it?
    • WGT – Good value but only allows 1 player.
    • After the above 3 the price/year jumps to almost 100/year. Is The Golf Game worth the extra money when compared to Creative Golf 3-D?
    • Is Jack Nicklaus (Premium) worth the extra 50/year over The Golf Game and 150/year over Creative Golf 3-D?
    • And finally, is TruGolf (Annual) worth yet another 50/yr over JN, 140/ry over TGG, and 200/yr over CG3-D?

Right now I’m leaning toward Creative Golf 3-D for the value unless the others really are worth the extra money. I know this topics been covered in other threads but hopefully they way I'm presenting it here adds something to the topic. Any thoughts you all have would be greatly appreciated!

I have played all of them. Will you play tournaments online? If so, it narrows your choices a bit. Before watching a major PGA tourney, I enjoy playing the same course in my sim. If you think this might interest you, it again narrows the choices to those with extensive course offerings. If neither of these is of interest, then I think Creative Golf 3D is fine if you just plan to play with your daughter. It allows multiple tees (unlike TGC) and has enough courses and fun stuff for a junior golfer. Also, it doesn't require the beefier PC specs of TGC.

All that said, if online play and more course options are of interest, TGC and JNPG are both good. If TGC2 is a free upgrade as has been hinted, you can't go wrong with TGC as a long-term option.

If you're a little patient you can save an extra $200 on the The Golf Game TCO (bringing the Price/Yr down to 657). If you buy your SkyTrak used, refurbished or wait for a promotion, you will save even more.

Thanks for the quick replies! Just based on these I'm now leaning toward TGC! ProTee, can you explain about being a little patient? How patient LOL.

Any idea what the upgrade to TGC2 will be for current TGC users?
