Challenging Room size would a Sky Trak fit?

I have an existing home theater room that is fairly compact. The ceiling is 9 ft high and the width of the room is only 8.5 ft. The room is deep, however a beam runs through it making the usable length about 12 ft. I am 6'2" and have be able to swing my driver without hitting the walls or ceiling by swinging at a very slight 10 degree angle. The Sky Trak would need to be placed no more than 12 inches from my hitting mat.

I do not want to hit directly into my expensive theater screen and am not sure what my best option might be to protect the existing screen. I would want to minimize taking away from the aesthetics of the HT room so something portable might be the answer. I would also want to show the Sky Trak on the existing screen if possible so perhaps a net option would work. Surely some of you have worked around similar issues and could provide some insight, suggestions and confirmation that the room is not too small to actually work.

What would a seasoned Sky Trak user do if presented with this room? Thanks.

Certainly challenging. You also may have to contend with that projector interfering with your swing, and find some way of protecting that centre speaker.

Thanks for bring that to my attention. I was so focused making sure I could swing my driver that I overlooked the speakers. That takes another 8" away from my space.

you could get a drop curtain/ hit screen with a mat, seems doable.

The Net Return is really good, and it's no more than 5 minutes to take down/put up (way less if you keep it in larger pieces). I do worry about your ceiling height...I have no idea at your height how you swing a driver in there

I had looked at this option. I was concerned about the rebound effect given the small space. A better option would be a screen that would deaden the ball after it hits.

It's not a rebound like a trampoline...it just catches the ball and rolls it down the net and back to your feet. We have a similar sized hitting room here and haven't had any issues at all.

I'm 6' 1.5" tall and have myself fitted into the extra bedroom - 12' x 10' with a 12' vaulted ceiling... built my net/screen about a foot from the wall and padded it a bit... I have JUST enough room to get WILD with the driver and everything still fit comfortably in the room (computer, projector, SkyTrak, bag of clubs, and my 215 lb ass swinging as hard as I can).

Won’t work. Your room isn’t wide enough. Additionally you would be in the way of your projector. Finally ...by aesthetics are you referring to the cinder blocks? How much was your “expensive” screen? High end HD hitting scenes are around $500-700.

Turns out that you were correct. The room was just too tight. Once I put the Mini Net Return in the room it further restricted my space. I needed another couple feet of width and probably 5 feet of length. Luckily I can return the net and skytrak. Back to the driving range for me. Sorry that you had an issue with my cinder block wall. Some of us don't have the budget of others. My Silver Ticket screen cost $230 and it works fine for my needs. Cost and worth are two vastly different concepts.

I'm sorry I was right in this case. I hope you get what you want and need. I know some guys that have set up some pretty cool simulators in their garages. Maybe that will be an option. Best of luck to you my friend.

I have seen others put a retractable impact screen in front of the theater screen.. Par2pro I think makes a good retractable screen
