Corey from Par2Pro comes through...
Narrow and dogleg fairway range options for SkyTrak, as well as 'interpreted' clubhead data as well as promises of future hardware integrations for clubhead data.
Disappointed on the hardware side, but like the fairway option for practice:

Integrated head data is pretty interesting. I wonder how accurate it will be seeing as it's coming from machine learning rather than actually watching the club head.
FYI, it's an additional subscription fee to get this information.

I'm honestly not that excited about the promised hardware integrations being able to deliver clubhead data. Unless I'm missing something none actually monitors strike location in any way.
Having said that it's great that they continue to improve the software, and especially the focus on improving the practice scenarios. Delivering additional value to existing users gives me hope as a prospective user that further good improvements will come with time. I finally feel dollars leaving my pocket and heading the direction of SkyTrak - just not for the reasons I expected.

Hey all,
Had a great first day at the show. I was waiting for Corey to post his video because it's easier than explaining it
We had overwhelmingly great response from everyone that came through to check out the new features. We actually do have all options integrated for club data, but we need time for more player and robot testing before our official release. I would, however, like to include the forum as a part of this beta testing and will do so in the coming weeks. Game improvement is our focus now on the software front, so expect some more advancements in Q1 and Q2 on that front as well.

While this is true, I feel that identifying strike location on the face is something that can easily be solved manually with things like impact tape, foot spray etc. The other stats they are releasing are much harder to work out on your own. I also practice with a set of blades. I don't game blades, but they really help identifying strike location and the feel of a solid strike (Irons only obviously).Originally posted by InToOut View PostI'm honestly not that excited about the promised hardware integrations being able to deliver clubhead data. I game blades and use them for hitting shots in the basement, too. They have great feel, but strike isn't always exactly where I thought it was, and I'm not convinced you can always interpret this based on what the ball does.
Too stinky for the basement, but on the range I'll spray athlete's foot powder on the clubface to get an exact recording of strike. I hit, and then try to guess strike based on a combination of feel and ball strike. I'm not always correct. Often I can feel a slight toe hit, but not always if it's minor and wasn't, say, low toe; which is really easy to tell.
Sometimes a slight toe hit will produce a curve to the ball flight. Other times I'll see the exact same curve, but with a center strike because the curve in that case is because of face-to-path. Just trying to interpret based on what the ball does would be a little sketchy to me.

Without integration of some sort how accurate can AoA, face and path really be? Sure, statistical analysis can probably squeeze out a little more accuracy.
BUT noise is noise, and as always, GIGO.
The individuals who care about club data need it to be very accurate to be actionable. I really hope to be proven wrong, but without additional hardware of some sort, I feel that we are entering gimmick territory.

SkyTrak_Seth - As an avid SkyTrak user with either the Game Improvement or Play and Improve package (not sure which I have tbh) - I'd LOVE to be a Beta tester for any new releases.
With regards to strike location, I play Epon 302s with Modus 120s and am 99% certain where I hit the ball most of the time - especially when it's the hosel
. To me, the most important club data is AoA, Path, Face to Path, and of course clubhead speed - and I'd be more than happy to drop another $1-2K for an HMT style attachment. Truth be told, I almost picked up a GC Quad earlier this week but managed to talk myself out of it.
Exciting developments! Looking forward to the new software and integrations!

SkyTrak_Seth If the club data is being deduced from the ball data, will it be possible to add the club data to shots already captured?
Looking forward to seeing these features come to fruition.

Kudos to skytrak for continually trying to better their product, especially at the price point it is at. That said, not sure I'd want club data unless I knew I had an accurate piece of hardware giving me those readings. May do more harm than good if the software is off at all.

I understand that adding new head club capabilities (even indirect method) and cosmetic changes to the driving range (dogleg farway option) is supposed to attract new customers in particular.
But I would appreciate when the firmware was developed with the same effort. The current situation with trouble reading strokes (not just wedge and putter) is more than sad.
I would also like to see the firmware could be optimized to significantly speed up the calculation of the ball data.

The only details I can provide at this time are that if you own a SkyPro or R-Motion, outside of the Game Improvement Plan, we will not charge you anything extra to use them with SkyTrak.

That is great to hear Seth! Is there any appreciable difference between the two, data wise. I don't need a simulator, so if R-motions only real benefit is it's ability to function as a sim I'll just grab a SP. (Other than the sensor module being more easily moved club to club on R-Motion)Last edited by mdniBruce; 01-25-2018, 04:56 PM.

I don't know anything about R-motion, but I will vouch for the Skypro. I have high confidence in it. The graphically illustrated swing is very accurate. Clubhead speed is dead on if club length is accurate. Brilliant calibration method by using tablet/phone. AoA is sometimes accurate, sometimes not.

Or finally fix the driver accuracy problems.Originally posted by Mirek_62 View PostI understand that adding new head club capabilities (even indirect method) and cosmetic changes to the driving range (dogleg farway option) is supposed to attract new customers in particular.
