Official v3.1 SkyTrak App Release

We have released v3.1. We will continue to work on club data and as promised, I will include you all in public beta as we fine-tune. Right now, SkyPro is only bringing in Club Speed and we re-calculate PTI based on that. In the not-to-distant future we will be bringing in additional parameters, most likely when we include R-Motion. Thanks for your patience with this one and enjoy.

Shot optimizer

I like this functionality. However, access is very user-unfriendly.
For use it is necessary to click twice and also to return to the practice session screen is necessary to click twice :-(
It would be good to place the icon for direct access on the practice session screen. It might be a solution to click to the trajectory view (it would not be a special icon on practice session screen).
Also, to close the shot optimizer screen, it would be useful to click the X in the upper right corner to go directly back to the practice session screen.

Any other suggestion?

I agree. . .great idea. Since shot optimizer only works with the current shot, single click toggling between opening the optimizer from the practice session then back to the practice session from Optimizer would be ideal. It would really be cool to be able to select shots in history and have optimizer be able to display those as well.

I agree, especially with the closing out...it was that way but must have gotten changed. I'll make sure closing takes you straight back to the range.

For me the DA is the hardest.. So many times I am hitting in the green for spin and LA, but the DA is red. I love this new feature.

It's a great tool to help you optimize your shot shape and spin. It compares the launch angle, backspin, and angle of descent of your shot with an optimal range of values against those 3 ranges.

Is anyone else having problems with the update crashing on Android tablets? It works fine on my Pixel phone but it crashes every time on my Samsung tablet. Never had a problem with either before the new app version.

I loose the targetline as soon I use fairway practice. Am I the only one ?

Same here. You can move the fairway marker in closer though. Typical that is where I'm aiming out on the course.

The center line doesn't show on the rough areas...only down the middle of the fairway. Would it help to put it on the rough? It's really more of a center line to help you see how close to center your ball lands, not really for aiming prior to hitting (since you are always aiming down the center), but I can see how it might be helpful.

Got my son to try out the fairway mode last night. He is pretty challenge driven. It's fun to put the fairway mode on the hardest and watch him try to hit shot after shot.

hey SkyTrak_Seth I was on yesterday and doing some practice, did the skills assessment. It seems to still be bugged out on when a hit vs a miss is on the green. Just passing that info along. Its still close to the edge but still not accurate. Seems like shots that are within a yard of the edge of the green often come back showing miss. but yet on the screen its definitely a hit.

Bug in optimizer screen

I was checking out version 3.1 today for the first time and I noticed that in the optimizer screen most of the data is not updated after Skytrak has registered a shot. Launch angle, back spin, descent angle and the 4 values in the left lower corner are not updated after hitting a registered shot (shots are displayed in shot history screen). Only If you leave the screen and return to the screen all values are updated. Quite annoying because LA, BS and DA are the most important values in this screen.

Hi All,
Long time reader, First time Poster :-) Thanks everyone for your input to this site.
First of all, I LOVE my Skytrak, I purchased it over the holidays and have got a lot of practice time in, and play TGC when I can find time.
But I feel like something happened with this new release?
- It seems like I get a little longer carry, but that may of just that I had a good day. LOL
- I've had more no reads in practice and TGC then I've ever had before. Most of the no reads were very low hit balls. We hit the same club a 17 degree hybrid over 5 times before it registered, then when it finally did register, it only went about 30 yards.
Just wondered if others have had a chance to see anything similar?

Not an available pick from the site now or when I was selecting packages after buying the system.. I have game improvement and thought that allowed all skill and challenge features which were my primary interest. Apparently not.

I'm also having this issue when trying to access the optimizer. It says, "premium package is required." How did you fix it? I also have the GIP package and tried using skytraks online support but they weren't as much help as Seth seems to be on here.

Jack14: If you haven't got it operational already ....get into a practice session, take a shot, then go into the settings and select Shot Optimizer. It works against the latest shot in your current practice session. Once I rebooted both the app and the skytrak unit, my problem resolved following that sequence. My initial mistake and that error message may have been generated because I tried to open Shot Optimizer without a practice session and shot in place first.

It was actually working the next time I logged in. I had uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing worked. I don't why it does now but I'm happy it does. Thanks for your help. Although I have way more mis-reads now then ever before.

Update. Fairway and Shot Optimizer work with my current permissions. Tried to access them incorrectly and that generated the 'premium package' requirement message. Reading through the beta posts I found Zeth's instruction for accessing the features.

Skytrak_Seth: Kudo's on the 3.1 update. Lower iron PTI is substantially better and I appear to be getting better consistency in shot length through all the irons. Fairway and Optimizer are really nice add-ons.
