  • Disconnects TGC & Skytrak

I am new to TGC and I can not get through a round without being disconnected multiple times. Either Skytrak disconnects OR TGC goes offline.

If I USB direct to laptop I can stop the Skytrak disconnects but I still lose server connection a few times a round.

This then involves exiting the game and restarting.

    this makes the software unusable.

Ive used Skytrak with JNPG for a year with zero issues.

I am connected via network. Any thoughts? also what is the quickest way to reconnect that does not involve shutting down?

Direct wire and offline play are stable so I'm curious if there's a way to download and store locally more than the standard course pack?

    thanks

My Skytrak disconnected today for whatever reason. I just exited the game. Reconnected the box in the TGC software. When to play game and was able to continue my round. All in all about 45 seconds.

I have 3 sim packs...TGC, JNPG and E6. E6 expires soon. The one I have zero issue with is e6 - it just connects and every shot recorded. Despite this I am not renewing. JNPG have two issues from time to time...either it cannot find the skytrak or the connection to perfect golf cannot be made. TGC - works about 95% of the time. Sometimes a disconnection. I like TGC the best - the ghost player, JOhn, and when a course is done right - the best grahpics.

I have this same issue and trying to figure out how to minimize screen and reconnect box without exiting tgc 2019. No problem when playing alone as you can continue game as you stated, but when playing with guests, the continue only brings up your game and not the guests, meaning that any disconnect during a group game ends the round.

        Any ideas?

I'm experiencing sporadic WiFi disconnects that are making TGC unplayable. For example, on the 15th hole today I hit my drive and Skytrak goes red on the top light like it read the shot, but nothing registers in TGC, Skytrak is frozen. I cycle the power on Skytrak and try to reconnect and just get blinking red lights. I ended up having to completely hard reset the Skytrak and set up WiFi again.

This is a recurring issue and it's getting to the point that Skytrak and TGC are unplayable. This was original TGC on the Tour today...

        Steps I've taken this week:
Assign Skytrak a static IP in my router - no difference
Put Skytrak on a dedicated 2.4GHz SSID with my access point - still using WPA2 AES

It seemed like the dedicated SSID helped this morning but then I had the problem above.

Has anyone actually had Skytrak support successfully troubleshoot issues like these?

I tried hitting balls again this afternoon and can’t hit more than 5 shots without a disconnect. I called Skygolf and they asked me to try in direct mode.

It took 3 or 4 tries to get the hard reset to work and then on my 3rd shot in direct mode it froze and dropped connection.

          Back to Skygolf it goes...

any luck with this? I was getting box disconnected about every 5-8 shots last night with a buddy playing. I was able to connect directly and it was much better but when lefties come over it'd be nice to be wireless.

I use to get these issues with TCG. I bought a new 3 node Google mesh network and put one of them about 10ft from my SkyTrak. Haven't had any issues since then.

If you disconnect during the round hit alt-tab to switch to your desktop, then in the system tray right click the icon and reconnect. You can power cycle the SkyTrak if needed but I usually didn't have to. That always fixed it for me without having to exit TGC.

                Hope you get it working

Can you elaborate on “alt-tab”? All it does for me is show a smaller window of the same screen and disappears when I let go of the keys.

Hold alt and tap the tab key. You should see a small window for any open programs. You use that to switch to your desktop so you can reconnect the skytrak

TGC & TGC 2019 are very twitchy on network issues like dropped packets for some reason. You normally see a shot take ages to register, then the lines on the green go super slow, and then lock up. Even though you'll still be connected to the internet, TGC has had a network blip and prob thought it was disconnected. I used to see this, changed my nerwork around so I had a WAP right by the Skytrak and never seen it again.

                Q. How far are you all from your wifi point, and what's your signal strength and contention like?
