    Official v3.3 SkyTrak App Release

    Hi all,

    Some cool new features around Challenges and Game Improvement in here.

    v3.3 Release Notes
    • Added Saved Presets and Randomizer to Game Improvement Activities
    • Skills Assessment displays Dynamic Handicap and Distance to Pin for each shot
    • Updated Dynamic Handicap Formula
    • Added Event Mode to Challenges
    • Added Scoring Mode and Shot Order to Challenges
    • Improvements to Target Distance Sliders
    • Added file to store app preferences/settings
    • Miscellaneous Bug Fixes and Improvements
    As these threads typically go, new feature requests start piling in so let me get out ahead this time The next couple of updates will include updated tracers, updated camera views, updated environment, updated graphic quality, club management, and multiple users. I'll continue to chip away at your additional feature requests as well. We also have robot testing scheduled at the end of this month for high ball speed measurement accuracy.

    2) We are adding randomizer to practice greens (new target every shot)

    So still 3 shot minimum in the skills assessment? This is featuring in the practice mode, 1 shot 1 green? Still able to set a min max range?

      Yeah, we need to keep Skills Assessment to 3 shots because we need shot dispersion for the Skills Assessment. Practice Greens will be 1 shot at a target, and move to the next (within the set min and max range). It will be unlimited.

    My SkyTrak is set up in the garage, and is connected via wifi with an iPad. My connection works, but often have to retype user name and password to login. For some reason, the login screen does not "remember me" despite checking the box with each login.

    Would it be possible to explore login via fingerprint (much like for the iPad itself or with several apps that are out there)?

      Is it possible next time you need to log in to send a log? After it asks you to log in, just go to ABOUT>Send Logs>Send Current Log. Make sure to note in there that you are having to log in every time.

    hey SkyTrak_Seth i just updated to 3.3 and my application made me uninstall a particular microsoft visual something (sorry forgot it that fast) tried repair first and it made me restart i restarted and continued install of application and got the same thing so i uninstalled it. I downloaded the 64 bit version for my 64 bit laptop. Now it finished the download, but when i search for networks after connecting directly to the wifi of the skytrak it connects via the skytrak but when i search for networks for my home network, it searches but never pulls up a list only can add manually. Is there something wrong with the scan?? But also when it is searching for the additional wifi networks, my laptop is coming off the skytrak wifi and back on to the home wifi everytime. i am assuming that that is something along with the issue? Please help. Thanks.

      Some users were not getting flagged to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 (which is required to run the latest version of SkyTrak) during installation. While we figure out why that's happening, we are forcing that install, so if it's already installed, you'll get an option to repair it...you can either repair or just cancel that setup since it's already installed.

      I don't know why that would affect the network scan, but it could be worth hard-resetting your unit by sticking the paper clip in the hole in the bottom for 10 seconds while the unit is on.

      SkyTrak_Seth i finally got everything squared away. not quite sure what happened but i did reset the unit, for some reason i still wasnt finding any networks. but i did make some changes to my router through my ISP and also changed some settings on my extender and was able to finally find the extender and the original network as well. Hopefully everything is good to go from here going forward to next update. loving the updates so far.

    Seth, I'm just wondering if you ever were able to find out regarding whether or not the putting could be fixed in Skytrak. Short putting seems to be random degrees 1, 2 or 3 to the right or left for some reason. Is this a permanent limitation of the Skytrak unit or can it be fixed going forward? It gets frustrating playing TGC with random reads and I hate the always straight cheat, because I am great with distance which isn't realistic. Thanks.

        New user here, bought a skytrak just a month ago thanks to a lot of good information from you people in this forum. Really been enjoying using it and very happy I got it, I'm relatively new at golf so I don't have enough experience with real life golfing to comment on how accurate it is in different conditions and for different clubs and shot types but for someone at my level it is a great learning tool.

        One small issue I have noticed: I'm from Norway and have it set to metric. Distances to pin before you hit and your shot lengths are shown in metres as expected, but in a 'closest to pin' session the bubble that pops up and shows distance left to pin after you hit shots gives yards and feet instead of metres. Should be an easy fix for the guys at Skygolf, is this something you could look at and fix in the next firmware update SkyTrak_Seth ?

          Are you using TGC? It seems that's the only sim software that I've heard about users having SA issues with putting direction. We will soon be putting putting (ha) in the SkyTrak app, so that will make it a bit more clear as to where the problem lies.

            Seth, I am using TGC, but it sounds like E6 users are having the same issue. Would Skytrak be able to coordinate with Pro Tee before they release TGC 2019 so this issue won't be in the upcoming release? It really affects gameplay immensely. Thanks.

            TGC uses the input from the SkyTrak hardware to simulate the ball flight. If SkyTrak sends a 3 degrees left angle then TGC will launch the ball 3 degrees left.

            Ah, good to know. I know it uses SkyTrak data, just wasn't sure if there was something weird happening with putting Glad to know it's across the board (which makes more sense anyway). Will look into it.

          Yeah, we just found other bug related to metric and setting the distances in challenges. I'm going to make a patch for that but want to make sure we wrap up all these units of measurement issues at the same time. I'll make a post now just to make sure aren't missing anything.

          Has anyone noticed a recent increase in backspin rates?

          It could just be that my swing is "off" as I haven't used it in a week due to some house work. I downloaded a new version of the firmware and my backspin numbers jumped around 2k RPM for my 8i. This is causing my carry distances to fall about 8 yards. Prior to this my carry distances in skytrak and in real world seemed very similar.

          Again if it's just me I'll yell at my wife for making me do house work and it costing me 8 yards.
