iPad compatibility

Hi All,

I have a question about which iPad models are compatible with SkyTrak. The FAQ page on the site says iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 2 and iPad mini 3. I assume that these are the minimum specs and that the new iPad 9.7 inch and the iPad Pro are also compatible given the much higher specifications. Is this assumption correct or is there possibly some reason why these would not also be compatible? I am planning on buying the SkyTrak and will also add either the iPad or iPad Pro, so want to confirm that these will be compatible.

Great, thanks. I just ordered my SkyTrak and am holding off on my iPad purchase until after the new iPad Pro is launched (hopefully soon).

I can also confirm the 2018 iPad Pro works very well with SkyTrak. You might want to consider getting a gaming PC/Laptop if you think you will ever want to play simulation golf against others similar to what's available with TGC. I think the only simulation golf you can play with the iPad is on WGT and it's very limited to the amount of courses available and it's single player only.

Agree. Brought a IPAD mini 4 just for Skytrak. Worked great for the App. Used WGT for about a week and then went shopping for a gaming laptop.

The biggest difference between iPads is how fast it calculates the numbers. Older iPads take a few seconds to display the numbers or trace. I bought an iPad Pro recently and it cut it down to maybe a second or 2

Thanks all. I will likely end up getting an iPad Pro (either 2017 or 2018), depending on how much of an improvement they make and how much the older model is discounted after the release. I would en up using the iPad for other things as well (business, travel, etc.) so will put it t to use.

as for a gaming PC, is it possible to ccnnect with a laptop or does it have to be a desktop unit? My use would generally be restrained cited to temporary setup (either at the driving range or on my rooftop balcony) so it would have to be relatively portable.

wondering if it would be at all possible to run something on my MacBook Pro, either with parallels or if there is any potential that some of the other sims come out with something for Mac in the future.

I have an ASUS gaming laptop and it works great! I think somebody posted running Windows in Bootcamp on Mac, but I don't remember if it was successful or not.
