Skytrak and JNPG - what's the deal?

I've been out of the loop for a while due to a recent move. During that time I disassembled my sim, decided not to re-up on my subscriptions, and have yet to reinstall everything at my new house.

I've seen some discussion that JNPG is no longer available for ST. Is that true? Is it true even if I've had a JNPG membership in the past on this unit?

Pretty sure you can keep what you have once you set it up.

If your subscription is still valid and not expired you can renew it. If it's expired then that is the end of JNPG on your Skytrak no way to renew it.

It expired. Wow, what a crock. I guess its time to start drafting my strongly worded letter.

So you didn't keep your subscriptions active and it's now someone else's fault. Classic.

FYI to all...I talked to SkyTrak today about this situation.

SkyTrak told me two important key points today...

            1) Once a JNPG membership expires, it cannot be renewed, per their contractual agreement with Perfect Golf-Trackman.

            2) Anyone with a SkyTrak and active JNPG membership seeking to sell or transfer their JNPG membership to another person...be prepared to forfeit your entire SkyGolf account in order to make the buyer/seller transaction work. They told me today (12.18.18) that a JNPG membership can only be connected to the original SkyTrak AND they cannot migrate that connected combination to another SkyGolf account.

If you think this sounds completely ridiculous, that’s because it does and it is. Emphatically, JNPG for SkyTrak is not a long term bet for folks in love with JNPG. I’m trying to redirect my own grief toward Trackman for the JNPG contractual arrangement and not blame SkyGolf.

If you already have JNPG with your skytrak, why is it not a long term deal? You can still renew your subscription.
And, you can't transfer any software on Skytrak as far as I know. You can go TGC from skytrak to GC2 but not skytrak to skytrak.

I sold my skytrak with JNPG a while back and just gave the guy my sky golf account. What's the point of having one if you no longer have a skytrak?

I don’t have a JNPG membership for my SkyTrak and have been trying to find find a means of getting one without an act of Congress. Just writing here so others are aware of the constantly evolving policies at SkyGolf. Without getting into the weeds, I’d been made aware of others in the previous weeks who’d been given special approvals by SkyGolf but those special approvals have now been regulated out of the abilities of customer support.

Keeping your SkyGolf account post-sale of a SkyTrak is still a valid concern for owners of SkyPro (like me) or SkyCaddie GPS and its subscriptions.

Don't blame SkyGolf. ErnestSports is also no longer offering it.

I should keep a $250 subscription active during a move in which I can't use it?

It's not that I abandoned the software for something else, it's that it didn't make sense to pay for it in my circumstance. I had no idea that this would preclude me from using that software in the future. I haven't seen much in the way of straight answers about that until some helpful individuals chimed in here.

I had much bigger things to worry about over the last year than this. Now that I'm able to start rebuilding my simulator, excuse me if I'm a little more than upset that the hardware I bought no longer supports the software that put me over the edge on the system.

That sucks for you, I also have JNPG and hope to keep using it too...I fear someday they will pull the plug all together on Skytrak, on a side note did you receive an email informing you that your subscription was up for renewal?

I had loads of e-mails telling me that it was my last chance to renew my JNPG, I was in a similar situation to Zevon and I knew my playing time would be very limited. No way I would pay a subscription for something I couldn't use, easy answer TGC. I know the arguments and the love for JNPG and whilst I enjoyed it at the time I don't miss it a single bit. The current situation with Trackman would also worry me, what happens when JNPG2 is released? Nobody will be getting that on Skytrak regardless of subscription status and JNPG will slowly die. It's already starting to look a bit dated and with no future updates I would be looking elsewhere. This is of course just my opinion, we are all different

Guys, I've been extremely pleased with e6 1.6 as I've been using it for a few months. I have never tried JNPG so I really don't know what I'm missing. May I ask, why are people so loyal to this product? What does it have that e6 and TGC don't have? Maybe we should be pushing for those features to be released on the other sims.

Multiple tees is the big one. Drop and place the ball anywhere on the course for practice. All courses there are designed for sim play, in TGC you get both sim, console and a lot of peoples attempts at creating courses so it can make it difficult to navigate. Most of these and other improvements are in TGC2019, which is why we are all checking daily for the post that says it's released.

I had E6 and really like the ball physics but it has no putting patch and short chips are very difficult (ball speed 10mph to register)...both TGC and JNPG have a good short game patch so it plays better IMO.

Extremely happy with E6. You do learn how to improve successful reads but TruGolf a putting and chipping patch would be icing on a nice product. I’m on the subscription plan, so if something better ever comes along, I’m not tethered.
