  • Help me understand

It seems that I am close to jumping head first into the pool, and just looking to make sure I understand where my money will be going.

Currently have Rmotion and 10 X 10 enclosure with hitting net. Gaming computer running the TGC that is offered with RMotion.
It's addicting for sure, but also great to swing during the winter. Daughter loves playing as well.

Goal is to have impact screen, projector setup for winter.
Would like to add Skytack to the system. Will setup for righty/lefty play

Need to make sure I understand the cost structure for Skytrack and TGC2019
I would need to purchase Skytack an Game Improvment for $1950.
For this, I get monitor and driving range.

If I want to get into simulator play/tournament play, then I would need to purchase TGC2019 one time, or annual for either $899 or $479.
So if doing annual, then 2 years would be the same as the one time purchase.

But from my understanding, I would need to keep the Game Imporvment subscription for $99 per year to keep TGC2019 going?
Not sure I understand what that's for or why it's needed. What happens to TGC2019 if you do not have the Game Imporvment subscription?

So if I jump in I am looking at the following:
    Skytrack and GIP - $1995
    TGC2019 one time purchase $899
So $2700 to get started then $99 per year there after?

Just want to make sure I know how much I need to stash away for the next couple months...
    thanks guys,
    Kev

Yes... that is skytrak's way of getting money from you for ongoing support of the simulator software. Make sure you add in $100-150 for the metal armor case for that skytrak.

Depending on when the next version of TGC comes out, you may be looking at another 400 to 800 as well to upgrade to the latest version. This is the situation right now for most who purchased the software prior to January 1, 2018. So that needs to be considered as well.

At this point I don't think he needs to factor the price of tgc2023 to get going. I think it's a good deal to buy the lifetime gig vs the subscription.

The upgrade from TGC to TGC 2019 cost only $399. TGC 2019 was released 4 years after TGC. There will be no 2020 version. There is also a subscription available at $479/year.

Sorry for the confusion. Was just speculating on what Protees pricing policy might be for existing customers the next time there is an upgrade.

Also, i believe TGC was released in February 2016, as i purchased soon after the announcement came out on this forum. So about 3 years and 2months between upgrades, if my calculations are correct.

      Thanks everyone for the response.
So what happens if I do not keep the Skytrack GIP subscription going? Does TGC2019 not work at all or perhaps only in local mode
      and no online play?

I get it, it's only $99 a year after spending $2,700 on the setup, so it's worth it, I am just curious what happens if you don't keep up the GIP subscription.

      thanks

If you don't keep up your gip you lose your cool range and everything that comes with it and you lose the ability to run your sim software with the skytrak even though you own the software.
you still have a very basic range though without gip

The range with all the extras is worth 99IMO.

So how are you defining "most" prior to 1/1/18? Do you know how many people bought prior to that date and how many people filled out the request for the free upgrade that didn't get it?

Scyukon No, i'm not defending, clearly I only questioned your post. You throw out that "most" people didn't get it and yet you provide no information to back up your statement. Protee created their requirements for a free upgrade, if you met them, as far as I can tell, you got it. I have yet to see a post from those complaining who met the Protee requirements and were rejected. The ones that I recall have had a low post count to start with, and that may include you as well, 74 in 3.5yrs.

Might be worth pointing out that both the SkyTrak and TGC have historically gone on sale a couple times throughout the year. The prices you quoted were "full price". I just picked up my SkyTrak with Game Improvement and the metal case for $1944.90 and TGC lifetime for $795. That is about $500 less than full price. Hope that helps. Good luck!

              wbond +1 what he said.

yet to see anyone who fell within their parameters get rejected.
