USB mode and TGC or e6

If I am in USB mode will the golf games work? Do I have to be in network mode in order for the games to work? Do I need any WiFi if I stay in usb mode? Is there any reason why the usb mode would not register beside being a bad cable? It works for a bit and then the green lights just stay on when I hit a ball and don’t register.

I have an elite mat which is pretty thick. Any recommendations for the SkyTrak height near the mat. I have the metal case.

I use USB with TGC. It’s worked flawlessly for me. I had moderate challenges with disconnects on wifi before. The computer needs wifi access still to play all but a select few courses though I believe.

I also have a high mat. My Skytrak in the FMJ sits on a 1x8 beside the mat then legs do the rest of the leveling.

I have the skytrak and the elite mat. I place a wide piece of tape (like duct tape width) and place the skytrak on it. If I place the skytrak direct on the mat I get a tilt on the screen where you click connect. I also replaced the USB cable which came with the skytrak and purchased a better one. Since then almost flawless. I played an 18 hole round on pebble beach and only had one non-register each. mine on a 4 hybrid perfectly hit and his on a sand wedge. Both times the skytrak top light did not turn red so I do not think it saw the shot.

Can you send me the make/model of the cord. Will happily purchase a better cord. What type of male connector is it?

Are you using the usb cord that came with the system? I booted up today in USB mode. Corrected quickly. Shut down SkyTrak and opened up e6. First hole, all green light, swing and no read (the top light did turn red). Tried again with all green and nothing. Manually forced the system to the second hole. I registered when I swung.

When I had e6 I went no cable. For TGC I use the usb cable....never had good success with TGC in WIFI mode. E6 worked great in WIFI mode. I just have TGC2019 now and use it in USB mode using this cable
