    Skytrak not working

    Hi

I wonder if anyone can help me.

My skytrak doesn't seem to be working anymore. It turns on normally and shows 3 green lights aswell as the laser dot. However, when I take a shot it does not register and the dot disappears. I then get a red top light with 2 greens underneath.

Nothing seems to change. Anyone had this problem? What can I do to rectify this?

    Any help would be appreciated.

I think folks will recommend flipping the handedness and seeing if it works. If it doesn't, it always seems to be the laser curtain which is a $300 repair cost.

It’s probably not the laser curtain problem if the top light goes to red. More likely a network problem or some glare/white in background confusing the cameras. Try all the connection modes: USB, Direct, and Network, and make sure your wifi is 2.4 and strong and steady.

Did you run into plan renewal recently? I had GI plan which expired last week and decided to not renew it, thinking it will go back to the default basic free plan automatically, but when I turn on my Skytrak I had the exact issue you mentioned. Turns out I need to renew the basic free plan, which I did not think I had to do before.

Yes, I am in renewal period. Like you, I didn't realise I would have to renew it for basic plan. Will try this tonight. Thanks for your help.

Are people paying for renewals before bug fixes roll out? I would strongly recommend not paying for any of their software until you're sure that a new version is coming out. At 8 months since the last version, you're at serious risk of throwing your money into the wind.

Not if you're happy with the current iteration. I know you enjoy bashing skytrak though so not surprised.

I wish I didn't have to bash them. I guess you find the license fee with no features or bugfixes acceptable--I don't. Companies that make money on subscription models should be held to the fire when they don't deliver...
