I understand what you mean. But, my hitting condition in my basement is the same. The only change is the app upgrade to 1.8. I believe this is the same for other peers who noticed this distance problem for mid-irons.Originally posted by cartrydge View PostAre you hitting off a mat? Could be the reason for the longer distance. Matts spin less and launch angle is usually different
As I said before, with the same ball data Skytrak predicts more carry distance than 'Optimal Flights' and 'Flightscope Trajectory Optimizer'. That probably means the hardware captures the ball data correctly, but its flight model has flaws. To me, +-3 yards are tolerable. 5 or even 10 yards are not tolerable at all.Last edited by hks8888; 01-16-2015, 03:10 PM.

I am going to test 1.8 a bit more, so it is too early to say that I wish I could revert to 1.7.
If you want to try 1.8, back up your apps before you upgrade so that you can revert to the previous version. I cannot guarantee this, but there seems to be a way. http://www.igeeksblog.com/how-to-re-...n-iphone-ipad/ Hope an Ipad expert can give us an advice.

If anyone has 1.7 can you try the following? I have an ipad 4 and an Ipad air and would like to put 1.7 on one of them to compare. What if I don’t have a backup?
You can ask any of your friends who *might* have a backup of the app in its older version. Obviously, you cannot sync your iPhone/iPad on their computer so you can simply copy the app. To do this (on your friend’s computer):- Click on “Apps” section in iTunes
- Find the app and right-click → Show in Windows Explorer
- You’ll find the .ipa file. Copy this to your system.
- Once done, you just have to drag-n-drop this .ipa file on your device in iTunes.

Check your trash, when new apps are updated the old apps are put in the trash (This is on your desktop computer)Originally posted by hks8888 View PostI am going to test 1.8 a bit more, so it is too early to say that I wish I could revert to 1.7.

After testing 1.8 for about an hour today I find the spin rate and distances to be a bit better but it's still a really clunky app, seems slower to register shots, my history has been wiped and it still refuses to sync with the 360 server.
I'm also hoping this time next week ( the PG show is next week ) we will know what the official announcement of a sim partner will be.

Looks like ST has announced its partnership with WGT for Sim play.

Pay more attention to the carry distance. The roll will vary anyways depending on the ground conditions. The carry distance and spin is what is important.Originally posted by hks8888 View Post
I just hit several balls with my 7 iron. When looking at the carry distances, they seem a little longer. But, not much for me. What I don't like is 1.8 version adds too many yards after landing. 15-18 yards is ridiculous.
