No cause I don't hit driver in my lessons. I'll bring it next time and try it out.Originally posted by keithpbz View PostYou happen to get any driver comparisons. I feel the problem might be with lower launching and higher ball speeds.

Exactly how did you do this comparison?Originally posted by sebmour View PostI find that BS, LA and BS are all measure really well and close with GC2. Side angle and Sidespin are not always close but I think that comes from the fact the Skytrak might not have been align properly. It's pain to align to target.

Like you can see in the picture I posted previously, I hit a Titleist Pro V1x in between both machines. I was hitting easy 8 irons. I was then looking at ball flight to insure that both had registered and showing the same shot pattern. I then noted down all corresponding shots and wrote them down in excel. I aligned the Skytrak by eye. It was my first day using it. In my practice session yesterday, I put an alignment stick leaning against it so that I could get a sense of target. It really made a good difference in side angle and side spin. I am trying to figure out a way to align the Skytrak in an easier fashion.Originally posted by Bubba22 View Post

Try turning on the alignment feature and then lay an alignment stick on the 2 laser dots.Originally posted by sebmour View Post

Does anyone have any information on the following:
>Do you need to subscribe to the extended warranty in order to get software updates?
>Aware of any plans for a laptop based solution, if so, when ?
>Or a monitor based solution, (e.g. Google Chromecast vs. Apple TV @$100), if so when?

Has anyone had issues with the shot bias going left? Seems hard to line up. When I try to use the alignment aid it can be very off depending on whether or not The unit is off a few degrees with a level. I usually don't hit my 3 wood 77 yards off line left. I do hit a draw and sometimes a pull but this seems out of proportion. Any hints?
Also I'm stil having shots go short distances when I have high soon wih PW (8000-9000 Rpm)

Yes, the flight algorithm has issues and Seth said they are working on the fix in 1.9 version. Hopefully it'll come out soon.Originally posted by Tbernardmd View PostAlso I'm stil having shots go short distances when I have high soon wih PW (8000-9000 Rpm)
In general, within 70-125 mph of ball speed (as far as I observed), 7000-7200 rpm is kind of a tipping point. As the spin goes lower than that, the distance gets longer. As the spin goes higher, the distance gets shorter. If you click my ID and see my previous posts, you will understand better.
Waiting for the newer version, I don't rely on distance numbers. Instead, I look at ball speed, spin (and sometimes launch angel) and I compare it to a distance chart that I created for each club.
For example, this is my 7 iron chart. (The actual chart is longer than this.) The last number in each row is the distance I got from Flightscope Trajectory Optimizer. Since I am familiar with my numbers now, I don't refer to the chart every time I hit.

I've found that the current flight model seems to exaggerate curvature. For example, with Skytrak I'll register a little push with a huge draw that winds up way left of the target line. If I plug the launch data into FTO, I get a little push that comes back but sometimes doesn't even cross back over the center line.Originally posted by Tbernardmd View PostHas anyone had issues with the shot bias going left? Next time you register a shot like that with a 3 wood, plug the numbers into FTO- I would be willing to bet that the result is much closer to center. Granted, FTO doesn't actually tell you offline yardage, but way left on Skytrak versus never left on FTO at least makes me feel like this part of the Skytrak flight model is still a little off.

I don't have a significant amount of data regarding curvature. I just ran several 6 iron shots against Optimal Flight and FTO. Skytrak certainly showed more of the offline yardage than OF. FTO, however, seems to show less curvature than both of them.
Skytrak: -4 OF: -2.4 FTO: a little right of the center line
Skytrak: 7 OF: 1.8 FTO: more right of the center line
Skytrak -19 OF -14.2 FTO: left of the center line
Skytrak -10 OF -7.1 FTO: close to the center line
I am wondering how 3-wood numbers would turn out.

I also find that shot curvature is pretty strong with Skytrak. I feel it measures way too much spin and I also noticed such a fact when I compared with GC2. Once well align, I feel the side angle of launch to be pretty good but the amount of spin/spin axis to be high. I cannot wait for 1.9 to see the correction.
I feel short irons are a little short.
Medium irons to be pretty good distance wise.
Driver to be low on ball speed. (5-10 mph)
What have you noticed?
