Gets more exciting by the day. If they where to partner with Trugolf's E6 Sim and offer a real lite version ( half the price of the current lite version ) that would be amazing !Originally posted by Smacc View PostWhat I've been told by Skytrak is: "We do anticipate PC integration prior to the end of the year and there will be an announcement soon regarding our simulation partner."
Take that for what it's worth as we all know deadlines can change but it's good to know they have that as a goal.

NO. I wouldn't recommend the GolfAcheiver. I have only tried it once and wasn't that impressed. Courses are expensive. It uses Simway courses like the Optishot.

From my extremely non expert opinion. (For the under $10k solution)If you want to go pure simulation that you set up a room for and want to play some rounds with your friends, Pro Tee is probably your best bet. It is also good for just practicing your swing and getting ready for the real world courses. As that system has been around, been tested and from what I can tell doesn't really have many negatives about it except for the 'tweaking' it requires in the beginning. With the new partnership with TGC the course choices basically can't be matched by any other system.
If you want something that you can take to the range with you and get feedback, and soon be able to play some virtual golf, then skytrak may be the product for you. The big question(s) with skytrak will be if/when they implement simulation what exactly will it be like and how will they work to improve the experience their customers have. The only reviews we have to go on now is what the guys here in this forum have said: it's accurate and easy to set up when using the iOS app. How that will translate to a PC running a sim software is still yet to be determined and again, we won't know that until maybe later this year. And even after that we won't really know until a few months after release and the first few updates are released...(we all know that software these days are put out 'as is' and we will fix the problems with a patch later haha)
I'm in the group that has preordered, so I guess I took the more mobile route, potential upside later, & shiny new thing as opposed to the guaranteed to work now route with tried and true hardware.

I agree with Smacc, about Protee being the best low-budget option for purely simulator play. The big problem with Protee for me is that you can't use it for chosing which clubs work best for you. No mat based systems can accomplish this. You need good quality ball data. If Skytrak is atleast almost as accurate as the GC2 on full shots, then it should work great for chosing clubs. I have about a hundred of them. And it would take several thousand balls at the range to adequately assess the minute differences between them. And that wouldn't even give you any more information than where you see the ball go. I was hoping that Skytrak would be the one low-cost option for bridging both simulator play and club selection.
But... (and these are big ones) The way they're rolling it out is a huge turn-off for me. And the thought that there might be an annual membership for their simulation options is probably a deal breaker. Even if it is only a hundred dollars a year. I don't value companies that want to sell you something, then expect you to keep paying in order to use it as you want to.

This is more of a question for those that have used it already... But, apart from the WIFI and laser pointer, how exactly is the Skytrak any different than their previous product (Vector Pro)? There seem to be more similarities than differences. They both work with E6 software, and neither of them can register putts or soft chips.
Vector Pro Measured Parameters -
Ball Speed: within 0.5 MPH
Launch Angle: within 0.2 deg
Back and Side Spin: within 150 RPM
Side Angle: within 2 deg
Skytrak Measured Parameters -
Ball Speed: within 1 mph
Launch Angle: within 1 deg
Back and Side Spin: within 250 rpm
Side Angle: within 2 deg

The e6 or e6 Lite shouldn't be a subscription service. You guys have a link to that? The e6 online play, however, will be a subscription service.
Btw, per SportTrak: anyone who provided their email requesting product information will receive the opportunity to place a pre-order for $500 off and that campaign (with a promo code) will go out today or tomorrow.

The $99 advanced game improvement package (that's required to "open the door to simulation...") is listed under their "subscriptions" section. I'm only assuming that this $99 fee will be required every year, to keep the unit able to talk to outside software. Even though E6 does not need a subscription, it sounds like you'll need that extra $99 subscription to allow the Skytrak to communicate with the E6 software. But that's just a very uneducated guess, since they're not explaining anything very well on their site.

two high speed cams -------------only uses 1. Correct me if I'm wrong
Laser trigger --------------------------mic trigger
multiple captures of ball ----------just 2 captures(only 1 after impact?)
hit all clubs from same spot ----must move unit when switching between driver and irons

Interesting question. I'm going to assume you won't have a WIFI enabled projector so you'll have to go HDMI to some kind of Ipad adapter. Even then I think the application would need to support this. There might be some ipad apps out there that will allow you to project your ipad desktop if the skytrak software doesn't support it. I know I didn't actually answer your question :P

If you have an Apple TV you can use Airplay from the iPad to the projector or if not you can get an Apple AV adapter ( $49Originally posted by Sullyberger View PostI am in the process of building out my simulator room. I pre ordered and will be using this for practice and gap fittings for friends, not interrested in simulator. I also bend irons so will be using to tweak exact yardages people want with irons Does it give apex height, and can altitude and temperature be adjusted. And will you be able to store different users for future comparisons.
