  • Buy Direct from Skytrak Best?

Hi all...having been lurking the past few days in prep for pulling the trigger on a Skytrak. Worked at Golfsmith a few years part time for something to do and have really missed hitting in the sim with a GC2 when customers weren't around. Can't tell you how many times a customer showed up and I helped them with sweat down the side of my face from hitting balls in the sim.

As the topic says, is there any advantage to buying the launch monitor, net and mat from Skytrak vs Rain or Shine, Indoor golf or maybe a company I haven't hear about yet? Still have the dilemma as to where to put it. Ceilings are too low and raising the ceiling is probably not an option, May be able to enclose the patio. Wife tells me the HOA rules say no shed although most have something in the back. The wife said a 10' wide, 15' long and a 10' ceiling may be pressing our luck.

Thanks in advance and I look forward to contributing to the site!

They only thing ceiling hight will hurt is clubs you can use
8 foot ceilings should allow 6 or 7 iron maybe more

Who's going to drop in a $10,000 - $15,000 simulator and only be able to swing from a 6 iron , or 7 iron and up? That's just nuts!

Wish I had the self control to not use a longer club. Still have Optishot but it's gathering dust because of some nasty scrapes on the ceiling. Worst case I can use it on the patio outside with a net and mat until I get it figured out...weather permitting.

Any advantage buying Skytrak, mat and net from one place or the other?

Some dealers package things up to give you savings on other products like mats or enclosures. Myself included

I bought direct from SkyTrak and had no issues. IIRC, the unit and case even came a day early.

Just remember every day you think about buying a Skytrak is another day that you're not hitting on a Skytrak. GL!

Hum...was trying to order Skytrak direct and saw it was a whopping $155 to ship that plastic box overnight. I thought no way the cost is that much...must be a mistake. Tried the “chat” but iPad screen didn’t work because where the submit” button was it couldn’t be tapped, so I called since it was a little after 8 and they were suppose to be open for calls but...nope. 8:30???...voicemail saying sorry....opens at 8AM. Has me questioning whether to spend $2,000+ if that’s what customer service is gonna be like.

Just called back and the phone menu was for subscriptions, tech and “green grass”\retailer. Uh...what about people just wanting to buy something and give you people money??? I finally spoke to someone and yes it’s $155 for overnight delivery...no thanks just on principal. BTW the sale is on until 1-2-20 in case someone wanted the end date.

Still reeling from dealing with those people today and may think about it for a few more days. Especially since I won’t get it for Christmas anyway.

I want to apologize. I’m in the eastern time zone. Sorry Skytrak...my bad.
