  • Buying Used Skytrak

    Hey guys,

Been lurking on the site for awhile and we are going to be closing on our house in the next few weeks. Trying to plan out my garage sim and looking at getting a Skytrak. If I can find a good used deal I don't mind going that route, but what things should I be looking for when buying a used one? For example, will a skytrak purchased last year perform better than one purchased in 2017 or so? Thank you guys.

The newer the better, and make sure you see a video of the unit picking up shots in both RH and LH modes (burned-out laser curtains is the most common cause for needing repair - it's rare but frequent enough that you should make sure that's not why they're selling).

That said, used units rarely for for less than $300-400 under new retail, which is probably only 5-10% of the total amount you're going to spend on the whole sim build. It can be a false economy to buy used and give up the factory warranty. If you decide to go the new route, PM me and I'll let you know about sales, extras, etc.

A few people within discord that have upgraded to GC2 and probably looking to sell. Buying used would be a smart play.

That’s where I’m at. Looking for a GC2 and immediately put my year old ST on the market.

I considered it, but the ProTee sensor used was more interesting for me, and a lot less money, letting me get my feet wet before dropping $1,000s more before I even know how much I will use it.
