  • Skytrak not working in TGC2019

I have newly purchased TGC2019(had no previous versions).
i have also had my skytrak stay in a cupboard for two years.
after renewing Skytrak license and buying TGC2019 one off, the skytrak works fine within the skytrak range but does not register anything in TGC2019.
i have trawled through the posts and tried various recommendations but with no success.
TGC2019 says it’s ready for the shot and everything else seems normal but it doesn’t pick up anything.
for the record I’m building the sim and can only test in my living room with putting. That works fine though on the skytrak range software.

Does the putting range on TGC2019 work with skytrak?

    please help....

I had similar issue last October and since then have had some intermittent issues with the TGC 2019 software. There are several you tube videos out there with instructions on how to set everything up but luckily my son is a gamer so he was able to go through the files and find the issue. But check the internet there are guys out there who have some good videos. Wish I could be more help.

      Thanks for your time.
its just my first time setup and usually pretty computer savvy.
just can’t work out what I’m doing wrong just now.
i really need to know in what order step by step people do in order to play the game using skytrak I guess

I just bought TGC2019 three days ago. I am also in the process of building sim, so I am projecting onto a blanket for now. No problem, so far but I don't putt.

I am a bit confused. ST range does not do putting, and if you can only do putting, how do you know ST range works?

Just to confirm, not a single shot ever has registered in TGC? Putting can be finicky, so why don't find a place you can at least chip the ball 15 feet (go outside, garage, hang a towel etc). Then go to the TGC driving range and try.

Putting green will work just fine in TGC2019 with skytrak. Have you closed down the skytrak range and clicked on the Skytrak TGC interface and connected the box?

looks like this one in the link.

There are many people who report trouble with putting on TGC2019, especially if they have FMJ case and/or ST is a bit high.
MrDo666 did report that TGC says ready for the shot, so I assume laser was on etc. I suppose he could have run ST range first, then switched to TGC without going through ST TGC interface? Not sure.

Yep agree putting can be problematic but it does work in TGC you should at least get one shot registered out of a few even with setup issues. I wasn’t sure if the Ready for Shot was a red herring as I am pretty sure mine says that even when Skytrak isn’t connected.

I had 2 issues when setting up TCG 2019 with SkyTrak:

My video card was too week to push the graphics and my AVG Firewall was preventing the game to open properly.

just needed to place the ball between 4-8 inches behind the dot.
I appreciate all suggestions. thank you

If you need to place the ball 4-8 inches behind the dot, that could indicate a setup problem between the position of the SkyTrak and your hitting mat.

The bottom of our SkyTrak (in the metal case) is roughly at the same height as our hitting mat - and most shots register correctly when the ball is placed on the dot, with issues primarily with some driver and lob wedge shots.

For most driver shots, placing a tee directly on the dot works fine. And when they aren't registering (if the driver shot is fast and low), moving the ball back an inch or two seems to increase the probability of registering.

High loft lob wedge shots have been the most challenging, since the ball quickly moves out of view of the SkyTrak cameras. What seems to work better is to move the ball closer to the SkyTrak with the laser dot hitting the top of the top-back of the ball, and that appears to increase the probability of getting a high loft lob wedge shot to register. But after a few missed reads, I'll usually switch to a less lofted shot just to move on in the round.

If all shots aren't registering unless the ball is 4-8 inches behind the dot, something must be wrong...

Yup, it is more than usual. It is all about trajectories. It probably means that ST is too high. But it should not affect accuracy if the unit is level. Other than the fact your distance will be 4 inches shorter than normal, but I am sure you can live with that. Do be careful that you don't hit the unit with a ball.
