  • My skytrak seems off

I didn't want to write another one of these posts but my new skytrak seems off. Every shot goes way way right as if I'm shanking. On the skytrak range the ball always ends up outside of the markers on the right. On Wgt I have had to set my skytrak up 1o clock to target just to keep the ball in play.

I'm just trying to access the skytrak app to provide some numbers but I can't access the app without skytrak connected. What's all that about!?

I have it set up outside so maybe this contributes to the problem. I wish I'd known about mevo+ before I made my purchase. Talking of which, are there any plans for skycaddie to offer more in its skytrak subscription model as I hear mevo+ will have 5 e6 courses for free?

This post is all over the place.

    1) You can access the app without the SkyTrak connected to get your numbers fine, as long as you're synced. If you're using a different device, sync first.
    2) The subscription model isn't going anywhere.
    3) You're probably not aligned correctly. SkyTrak isn't the best outside but that's for reads in sunlight. It's hard to make any sense of what you're saying because "1'oclock" would be an absurd angle and it feels like you're exaggerating. Keep in mind alignment only effects HLA. If your ball is slicing it's you not the SkyTrak.

Apologies for confusion. 12 o clock is the device lined up perpendicular to target (lined up to the edge of my mat). 1 o clock is the device open to this line. Hope that makes sense.

I'm sure most shots were just a push rather than a slice. Admittedly I do suffer from a slice with my driver but shoot pretty straight with my other clubs.

I'm still trying to check my history on the skytrak app. It says it's synced but then I go in to history the screen freezes and I have to exit the app.

I'm going to guess alignment is off. How are you setting up the Skytrak?

Ron at GungHoGolf who posts on here has a good article on Skytrak alignment

The SkyTrak launch monitor is amazingly accurate, but you won't get good results until you have it aligned properly. Here is what 20 9-iron shots in a row look like from a good player on a SkyTrak - 20 perfect baby draws starting about 2.5-3 deg right, and all landing in a 30-foot circle. Before you can hope to achieve

Didn't read the comment about the Mevo+ at first, but you could probably make a profit selling the Skytrak with the market as it is right now. Downside is you're waiting 2+ months for a Mevo if ordered today

Thanks will check the article. Fyi I align it to the edge of my mat and align myself in the same way before I swing. The device is in the protective case and level.

My set up is outside and easily movable so I move the net so my ball is lined up to the middle of the net.

Thanks for sharing the skytrak alignment article. I followed it to the letter and am much happier with how my shots are looking on the skytrak app.

The key changes I made were turning the feet upside down to ensure the height was correct against my mat, using the level adjustment in the app to ensure the device was perfectly level and putting some tape down the middle of my net to give me visual feedback of where I hit the ball in relation to the target line. Also tested in the evening so no sun was affecting the shot.

        Happy days!

Glad the link helped you! (And thanks DS12 for posting it)

I am happy you got it sorted. Alignment and level affects accuracy. Height issues can result in no-reads. And yes, the sun can create wonky reads. As can WGT. In your case, probably mostly alignment.
