Hey all,
My skytrak is 2 years old, and I am getting an increasing amount of "No Reads" lately and its getting frustrating. I want to talk you through what is happening and see what you guys think. These happen while playing TGC2019
I get two types of no reads, the more common one is when the ball is struck, the dot vanishes like normal, and while waiting for the shot to appear on the screen, the dot will reappear and nothing happened. The golfer then needs to re hit his shot. This happens perhaps once every 2 or 3 holes (assume two players are playing at a time).
About two weeks ago, I started seeing a different type of No read, where the ball is struck, and the dot never vanishes. This happens less frequently than the other type, but often when it happens, it will happen 3, 4, 5 swings in a row. On occasion, when this happens, I will click ESC to watch a replay of a shot, then return to normal play and it will read the next shot. Not always, but about 70 percent of the time.
From reading this thread, we do the following:
We use a ball with markings on it (Chromsoft with little spades, clubs, etc).
No reflective items behind the golfer
We try and place the ball slightly behind the dot for lower lofted shots (woods, long irons) and a hair in front of the dot for higher shots (wedges).
There are two lights in the garage, both are above and slightly behind the skytrack.
Its perfectly level and the base of the unit sit flush with the fiber built mat we hit off of.
Before we play a round, I take it out of the case to wipe down the glass, and laser dot area (I do feel that fibers from the mat fly into that thing a lot so we clean it a lot).
There seems to be no common theme to the no reads. It can happen to me, or my buddies at any given time. So I dont believe its the shoes, clubs, etc.
My laptop is not the greatest, but I have used it since December and there used to be full rounds where I might have 2 or 3 no reads, which wasn't bad. I cant imagine the computer would matter anyway.
Its getting worse, and very upsetting. I am wondering if you guys have had this type of thing in the past, and what can be done about it. Maybe it needs a "tuneup" or something like that. I read that some of you feel like you get a no read once every 100 shots. Which seems impossible to me when I seem to get it once every 10-15 shots and sometimes multiple times in a row.
Attached are some photos of the set up
Please, any advice would be appreciated.
