Skytrak integrates with WGT

WGT Golf is an online and mobile golf game. With the integration of WGT Golf with a SkyTrak Personal Launch Monitor, golfers will have access to select from 20+ courses featuring either all 18 holes stroke play or a 9-hole challenge with the best approach shots on each course.

Well I certainly didn't see that one coming. Haha. It is encouraging that they will be potentially offering multiple sim options though, not being married to just one company. Still holding out hope for a miracle and they partner with TGC.

ProTee confirms that there is nothing in the works between Skytrak and TGC.

Stoked to hear about the 1.8 release and see that they are making attempts to fine tune - I just finished a bunch of testing against 5 other units and can't wait to publish the results.

I'm not familiar with wgt but wondered why it is seen as so negative by some? I downloaded the app on iPad and it seems to look ok. I am very interested to see if they discuss specifics with pricing this week or just talk about "the future" and "available soon".

Reason is because it uses static 2D HD pictures. Not 3D like ProTee or TGC.

Zmax, is this the same as how the HD Golf Simulators work. They use HD pictures of real courses. Is HD Golf a 2D "High Def" image as well or any different than WGT's?

I would hope there is a way to setup tournaments and only allow real golfers using Skytrak. I sure wouldn't want to play against people using their keyboard/Mouse.

Wonder if WGT is developing a special interface only for Skytrak users or is it exactly the same as it is now with the free version with all the advertisements. The ads would not be cool to see all the time!

They would have to develop a special interface for the SkyTrak for WGT to accept ball data as input. No idea on pricing.

This is pretty much the same as HD golf and Holiday Golf I believe.

I will admit that I only have limited experience with the WGT iPhone game, but I'm just a bit skeptical that this can work for a launch monitor sim. Due to it being static actual images, there seemed to be very limited camera angles and some were very awkward. If it's free then it will be hard to complain I guess.
