  • Skytrak Teams up with WGT

    Just released!

    Skytrak integrates with WGT

WGT Golf is an online and mobile golf game. With the integration of WGT Golf with a SkyTrak Personal Launch Monitor, golfers will have access to select from 20+ courses featuring either all 18 holes stroke play or a 9-hole challenge with the best approach shots on each course.

I can get enjoyment out of playing the PC version with a mouse for a little bit, I'm sure I would like using my golf clubs even better if it had the same ball flight as SkyTrak app... as long as it is free or pretty close to it. Any typical simulation software cost and ya, I'll pass.

So, anyone actually planning on playing WGT instead of E6 (if it truly is $25/mo)?

      I know my answer....

I'm going to reserve judgment until they each roll out their apps. There are too many unknowns at this point. Lots of "if"s...

Well, I am definitely in for the $25 per month for E6 "Full Version". That's $300 per year. So at the current cost of E6 software for $3000, that would take you 10 years to pay it off. So the monthly fee is looking really good.

This is a great move on their part from a business standpoint. This generates more customers and ensures and guarantees a consistent and long term revenue stream each month vs. minimum sporadic sales. TruGolf/E6 will be more successfully selling a subscription service of their software as compared to their hardware. Especially very smart integrating it with many launch monitors.

          This is great for everybody!

I'll try the WGT software with my Skytrak, but having 3D with E6 vs. 2D with WGT will make a big difference.

I have to say I was kind of hoping to be using Skytrak with a sim this month or even next as the hyperthermic temperatures outside are making it impossible to play a round. I guess I'll have to wait until March or move to a warmer climate

I feel your pain Jel. Started doing my indoor build slowly a few months ago after ordering SkyTrak and thought that even with all the delays and bungled release all would be well by the time my build was done. Now as things are coming together in my mancave its becoming a little frustrating hearing the timelines on some of these partnerships and am thinking I'll be finding an open course before any of it comes together even up here in the frozen north. Granted, my main goal was to have the indoor driving range the thought of Sim play has become more attractive over the last few weeks. Patience Patience Patience.

Anyone know if E6 will truly work with Skytrak? I saw the Par2pro video from the PGA show but I would be a buyer for the E6 cloud if it works out.

I was at the show and saw both of them working together, actually the people form Skytrak were in the E6 booth. They both have plans to integrate the devices, and as you saw in the video they are pretty close. As always it is a matter of testing and debugging along with the cross fuction of an IOS platform into a PC platform, all that equates to more than a couple of delays. I know they were shooting for the end of March, fingers crossed.

Seth - I see that you haven't commented on this WGT thread or the e6 thread. Since there was a formal press release with WGT I was hoping perhaps you could comment on this. Any chance you could shed some light on the partnership with WGT? You have always been very reserved when it comes to discussing details and timelines which is understandable. We appreciate your involvement and feedback on the forum and I hate to annoy you with requests like this, but I'm wondering if there is any bone you could toss us to pacify some of the curiosity about simulation. The original press release with WGT stated that the integration was expected to be ready in 2nd quarter 2015. Would you be able to comment on whether or not there is any validity to this?

Good timing. It's taken a bit longer than anticipated, but we are covering good ground on both right now. I don't think Q2, albeit late, is out of the question at all.
