  • Official v3.4.2 SkyTrak App Release

    Hi all,

    I hope everyone is well during these interesting times. Not a super exciting release by any means, but did take care of some bugs and behind the scenes issues based on your feedback.

    v3.4.2 Release Notes:

    - Bag Management – Allowed for reordering clubs along bottom row
    - Bag Management – Fixed duplicate club bug
    - Bag Management - Fixed bug where editing clubs on bottom row changes all club names
    - Bag Stats – Improved load time on Bag Stats
    - Bag Stats - Fixed bug where Bag Stats only show in Yards
    - Shot History – Limited amount of activities/shots that are pulled down to local storage during sync. All shots will remain in SkyGolf 360
    - Units of Measurement – If set To Meters, distance to pin will now display in Meters
    - Profile Selector – Fixed bug where sometimes selecting a Profile is slow or unresponsive
    - Miscellaneous bug fixes and improvements





    Should be live for Apple and Google momentarily.

      Ah, I see now. I'm guessing it has to do with the languages. Those are still in beta (which is why we didn't advertise it just yet). I will take a look though.

    Good morning. I updated my Skytrak last night to 3.4.2 and now it will not connect. I can log in fine, but it seems to be stuck trying to "discover". I have two red lights and a green light on the Skytrak. I don't understand because I have used it heavily since I bought it earlier this year and it worked perfect up until I did the update last night . I did clear my cache already and did re-install once already.

    If it makes a difference I have always played in Network Mode and I did not change any settings.

      Just tried resetting the box, then took it out of wifi range and reset again, completely deleted the Skytrak App, reinstalled and still no good. Just sent my log files in.

        I am now 100% sure that is a software issue related to the update because I just booted up my old laptop with an older version of skytrak on it and it works perfect! Click image for larger version

          Not sure how or why but after resetting the Skytrak again, uninstalling the 64 bit and installing the 32 bit, then uninstalling the 32 bit and reinstalling the 64 bit it finally connected in direct mode and then I was able to get it into network mode. I have never had this much trouble updating any app or program in my life on a cell phone, tablet, PC, etc.... It should not be this hard. It should be download and install, and then restart the PC like every other program update in the world.

          FYI, I was using the Skytrak in USB mode for a few minutes because I wanted to at least be able to use it while the experts were figuring out what to tell me to do and I must say that it was a very poor experience. It would not have been usable, more than half the shots were not read and it was extremely slow and delayed when it did read. I would think that the opposite should have been true, typically a wired system is the most dependable.

          Now that I have it in Network Mode it is as fast as ever, with no missed shots. I hit roughly 100 shots on the range plus 18 holes last night without a single missed shot,this is typical for my setup since I purchased it in January.

            I'm really sorry for that experience. Trust me, I know stuff like that can be frustrating especially when there is no obvious explanation. I'm glad it is working, but I'll still take a look at the logs and see if there is anything there. The only time I've seen USB issues with missing shots is in a high static area when static actually gets into the cable - unfortunately a room full of golf mats is one of those areas - we see this issue spike typically in the winter/colder/drier months.

          I just installed the 3.4.2 update last night and Skytrak was running fine. However, when I launched TGC 2019, I get an alert that pops up after hitting "ENTER" to play a game after the intro screen that says "ALERT ProTee SDK not connected or not started. Please start the ProTee SDK to continue; or you may exit the game." Anybody have any idea what it's talking about? When I launch TGC 2019, I usually click the SkyTrak TGC Interface shortcut, then select the connect box option and then hit "play game" once connection is completed. From the TGC interface, I hit Enter to play a game and that's when I get this alert.

            What4 - I occasionally get this as well. What has worked for me is:

            1. Go back into the interface
            2. Copy and paste the license key into notepad
            3. Deactivate the license and clear all of the fields
            4. Close the interface
            5. Reopen the interface
            6. Paste in the license key,
            7. Activate
            8. Reconnect the Skytrak
            9. Play game

            If this doesn't work, you'll need to contact ProTee so they can work their license magic.

              thanks! i tried it but when i enter the license key back in and click activate, it doesn't do anything. sent off an email to ProTee support now.

              They were doing maintenance yesterday - should be back to normal now

Give the new download link a try and see if that fixes it. Also, does the app search for a connection or does it just sit there and say "not connected"?               Hi Seth, I’m having the same issue. Unable to connect using network mode since update. I have sent an email as requested with logs and what I have tried.

              The following hasn’t worked for me:

              -tried both 64/32bit versions

              -deleted cache from AppData

              -redownloaded and clean install of both 64/32bit versions from Skytrak (today)

              -confirmed no wifi changes to previous setup – both device and laptop are on the 2.4Ghz version of same wifi network.

              -left discovering for over 10mins

              -confirm skytrak unit has solid green (bottom), solid yellow (middle) and solid red (top).

                I had similar issues to you, see my posts above. Try using direct mode, after connecting in direct mode you may be able to go back to network mode.

              Just to update, after a bit more troubleshooting I determined that when I updated SkyTrak I ran windows updates and also installed NordVPN. Like most I tend to update and install things all together due to laptop primarily being used for Sim.

              it looks like NordVPN was causing the issue. I didn’t have it connected or even the software running. But it has ‘protection’ tools that are similar to the ones AV providers offer for networking. Something in NordVPN stops it picking up the SkyTrak. As I say this was not actively connected or even running. Strange.

              Uninstalled Nord and it connected first time no issues.

              I can definitely echo the comments about network mode being quicker than usb. Been running usb for the past 3weeks, reliability of shot detection has been the same as network. But the speed from shot to screen is definitely quicker, especially in TGC2019. Good couple of seconds faster.

                NordVPN definitely hosed mine. It persisted after shutting it completely. I had to uninstall and reboot. Not sure, but I assume it was enabling their CyberSec feature that did it.

              Wow, that is really great to hear. There are definitely certain antivirus programs that can cause issues either launching SkyTrak or keeping it from accessing shots when hit. I'm so glad you were able to trace it down to NordVPN.
