    Skytrak pics processed in cloud?

Does anyone know if the images that the skytrak takes to evaluate your golf ball are processed on your pc/mobile device via the software, or if they are processed in the cloud with skytrak servers?

I’m having lots of shots not read, and understanding where the images are evaluated / processed will help me prove or disprove my theory as to why.

    thanks in advance!

They're processed on your PC or mobile device. Only shot data is synced to the cloud. Average rate of no-reads on a properly set-up SkyTrak is maybe 1/20.

No reads (not mis-reads) are usually caused by the following (in order of likelihood):
    1. SkyTrak unit isn't at the right height (bottom of unit even with surface of mat)
    2. Unit not making consistent connection with device (bad wifi signal, bad USB cable, etc), so images don't get to the device for some reason
    3. SkyTrak unit's Tilt/Roll is off (check in the app, not with bubble level)
    4. Ball is wrong color or not positioned right (best to use white ball with logo towards the unit)
    5. Something bright or reflective is in view of the cameras
    6. Protective case may be blocking the cameras (test without case)
    7. Lens cover is dirty, or thin plastic film with tab was never removed from lens cover
    8. IR laser curtain bulb (not the red laser dot) is going bad (if this is the case, red laser dot won't go out with swing and all 3 lights will stay green).

Even 1/20 seems really high to me. I normally hit over a 100 balls per practice session and get maybe 1 or 2 no reads per session.

jpotas would you be able to briefly highlight your setup? I have a CCE mat and purchased the protective case with the ST. Also, purchased a small appliance caddie for kitchens. This elevates the unit a little bit, and also slides on a fixed plane to allow for movement of the laser from, lets say, a tee for driver, to irons and such... All while not adjusting the angle orientation of the unit.

Yea I’m getting like 4/10 not reading. (Connected to pc via usb cable) So something is clearly I wrong, I’ve been testing a lot of variables, so hopefully I’ll figure it out soon.

jpotas Yes agree with you. normally 1-2 per 100 when working good. This is on TGC19. Less no/miss reads on skytrak range Connected in network mode. Once in awhile get. bunch of misreads disconnects. But usually just keep reconnecting and things get back to normal eventually

Ron's list is good. Work down and eliminate. Do any clubs read more than others. That is your first clue.
