    SkyTrak v4.0 Beta

    Hi Everyone,

    Before we do a full rollout of v4.0, I’d like to let the forum test drive it. The release notes are pretty self-explanatory, but do take note of the graphics quality options found in the in-game settings. We initially set it automatically based on your device’s graphics capabilities, but feel free to play around to find the best combination of graphics/performance.

    A lot has changed with Apple and Google since our last release. Apple has discontinued support for the original iPad Air and will not allow it to upgrade to iOS 13. Because of this, we will not be able to offer the v4.0 upgrade and beyond to original iPad Air. For Google, as of November any app updates must meet new requirements for Android 10, so many older devices will not be able to run v4.0 and beyond.

    - Limited supported characters in Profile Name
    - Restricted Altitude and temperature to realistic values
    - Fixed duplicate club bug in Bag Management
    - Fixed Bag Mapping bug in offline mode

    Lucas, sorry I missed this post. I just connected to the same v4.0 version and it connected straight away with USB. Can you check in device manager and make sure there is a "Rapsodo Personal Launch Monitor" listed under Universal Serial Bus Devices? Does the device manager list refresh when you plug/unplug the unit from the computer?

      Can you let us know if anything was done to the physics?

      I seem to only be able to hit HEAVY draws/border line hooks or dead straight blocks 10degress to the right with centred spin.
      I'm very aware that this could just be my swing, but when the ball is hitting the impact screen to the left of the centre of the screen, with the biggest slice I can put on it, a 10 degree (right) side angle with centred spin axis is very odd.

      I also seem to be getting quite a few misreads.. I've not experienced misreads since dialing in my setup, only 'no-reads' (which I'd prefer).

        Can you let us know if anything was done to the physics?
        I don't think there were any changes to image engine or ball flight engine. If side angle is significantly off on a consistent basis (assuming it is aligned correctly in the first place), it may be at wrong height. Does this happen to all clubs, or just some?

          reinstalled works now.
          not sure about the tracer. looks like a white bird flapping its wings following the ball. graphics look great. ill play with it some more later. thanks

                App is crashing a lot when adding clubs to "My Bag". Not sure if this was an issue with 3.4.2 or is new with 4.0

                  Absolutely nothing done to physics, ball flight, shot capture, image analysis, etc.

                    I used the Skytrak with a PC. On the last update the program started running slowly, as in the program seems to time out after ball is hit and before numbers come up. It can take 10-20 seconds for numbers to appear. This beta is still doing that same thing.

                      What specs does your PC have. That can make a huge difference in delay from strike of ball to display of the shot on the screen.

                    I couldn't get my Skytrak to connect with the new version, so I went back to the older one. Going to try it again tonight when I have more time.

                      I mentioned in the other thread too, if it's stuck on "not connected" and doesn't ever change to "looking for connection", you need to delete your local cache. Delete the SkyTrak folder in C:\Users\[current user]\App Data\Local Low and then restart the app.

                        I will give that a try tonight. I tried the x86 version and it worked fine. The x64 didn't last night. But I will try this solution.

                      Everyone, thank you all so much for the valuable feedback on the beta version. While we continue to sort out the last outstanding issues (most notably the custom bag bug that a handful of you experienced), I'm making sure that your comments/requests make there way into the final release pertaining to camera views, tracers, shadows, etc. We'll get another beta posted up here likely next week for one last run through.

                        Looking forward to the update ... loved the new graphics, and hope the camera is good again

                        The other features like being able to have shot optimiser open same time as range ..... any ideas when we expect those changes

                          I've been getting garbled graphics on the yardage with the iOS version. Anyone else experience this?
