Skytrak and E6 (demo)

Been testing the Skytrak with E6. Connection is easily done through wifi. Bill data is measured and fed to E6 using its algo's. Delay is about 3 seconds. Probably ok with most folks but those that expect it immediate may be annoyed. They are working on improving the shot to show time. Chipping works fine. No putting as of yet. One thing that is critical is having the unit exactly aligned to the target line. If off it will affect the horizontal azimuth. Right now they don't have the alignment assist option available within E6 but I suggest they allow it to make it easier to align. Overall however it works fine.

The only problem I have and I think someone mentioned it already is a putt/chip from fringe, I couldn't get it to read. Other than that, I thought it does ok with reading putts, no better or worse than other sims I've used.

Chipping from fringe is virtually impossible seems 10 yard shots are not picked up, i have to chip 20 yards to get it to register then face a long putt back. I have 10ft gimmes turned on.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to extend the trial period? I download the older beta version and now I get a message that my "lease has expired"

FWIW - I tried uninstalling (and removing some registry keys) but still no luck

Has anyone tried running this E6 demo on a virtual machine (like Parallels Desktop) on a Mac? Thanks.

yes, am doing it on macbook running El Capitan and VMWare Fusion 8 with Win 10. No problemo

bennyg211 is your skytrak in direct mode or wifi? - I am on El Capitan but using Parralles + Win 10 but my skytrak never seems to be recognized in e6 ... thanks.

Can't get it to read a put under 25 feet. Graphics are weak compared to TGC.

The E6 Site has SkyTrak listed as a compatible device now .. may not be new but just noticed it

I got it working without ever using the skytrak pc app. It's not as nice looking as TGC, but the range is nice and the golf is fun. I like how they make it easy to navigate.

I'd consider this option for monthly fee perhaps. It would be nice if we could demo TGC for 30 days.

All and all I'm stoked i got to test my setup and hit some balls. Thanks e6 demo!

Joko, it's to bad they didn't update the graphics. For what we are waiting for - Perfect Golf and TGC, this really does drop the ball.

The graphics are years outdated. If's fun to play in the interm though.

Yep, 30 days unless they figure out to plug the leak before then. When the skytrak loads, there's a communication between the software and servers. That's where I'm guessing the license check will happen. Once they add the check I'm guessing our "free" demo will end.

I hope they keep the demo open as an informal beta, like WGT. Skytrak has enough bugs and false starts that they can use some good will among their customers. A free opportunity to debug the software and interface before people pay for it and rightly demand it work fully and properly seems like something Skytrak ought not miss.

As an fyi. If you have windows 10 you can reset your system-lose all your files etc. This will restart the 30 day limit. Not the best solution but if your like me the sim pc is really only used golfing!

So this is my first experience with sim golf in quite some time. Im really enjoying the beta so far. My only issue is with putting. Maybe im doing something wrong but im really struggling to make putts. Seems most are missed (almost shanked) right. Anyone else noticing this? Having a hard time scoring without making anything outside of gimmee range. Im about a 6 handicap as a point of reference.

yes all my putts fly off to the right, i set gimmes to 10ft to try and avoid putting altogether,

Had issues with putting as well. I set "Computer Decides" and it ends the hole when you get it on the green. Number of strokes dependent on how much meat you had left on your putt. I also tried "Autoscore" but that seems overkill in that it eliminates chips as well.

Mine too, I've come to the conclusion that ALL simulators are worthless when it comes to putting. PERIOD.. In the range mode which is very cool I seem to get about the same data as I did when WGT was up and running.

I've had some success putting, I noticed some putts went left, but I think that was me. But I've definitely gotten straight putts.
