Skytrak and E6 (demo)

Last night I had two players set up, one on the amateur tees and one from the ladies but both players always started on the same tee. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it just a limitation of the demo?

I played with one person from pro and one from amateur and i'm pretty sure we hit from different distances. I will try to check again when i get home later today.

Maybe ladies and amateur were close together on the same tee box?

I would think so, e6 isn't too intensive

Demo's free, give it a try. You will know right away, the tee peg(mouse pointer) will be extremely slow if the computers not powerful enough. Then the ball rendering will be slow as well.

The demo absolutely lets you play different tees. I just checked by playing two holes with two players, one from championship and one from amateur and they played at different yardages.

Tonight I tried E6 demo for the first time. I attempted to play 18 holes twice, first time Skytrak locked up after the second hole, top light turns red and no laser dot. Had to reboot my PC to even get Skytrak to reconnect. Tried it again and it locked up on the fourth hole same thing. Anyone else getting this also?

Driver distance is still way the hell off also, irons to for that matter but driver is the worst, not sure what to do about this one either, any suggestions would be helpful.

I play alot of the E6 demo (7 days till it expires...come on TGC!), and the only consistent issue I have is short chips from the fringe often fail to register. Placing the ball 2 inches behind the laser dot sometimes helps, sometmes doesnt. I have had maybe 2 lockups total in 3 weeks using it nearly every day. I am running it on WIndows 10 (bootcamp on a Macbook Pro).

Driving, and iron distances, seem within my actual abilities. Before I bought skytrak, I would have said my 8 iron carry was 150 yards (based on 20 years of golf, but no launch monitor measuring). Skytrak has my 8 iron at 145 yards average carry.

How far off are your distances?

My normal driver carry distance is 245 to 255, Skytrak has my total carry and drive distance combines at barely breaking 200. My irons are off about the same equivalent. I usually hit and 8 iron 160 Skytrak I am in 130's. But my "L" wedge and sand wedge it registers too long. It's really weird. My high loft wedges seem fine but the higher I go up my irons the farther off track they are, for example it has my 4 iron registering not more than my 8 iron. But if I go down to my "L" wedge or sand wedge they are acceptable distances.

I have yet to receive a non register chip in E6 but then again I never got past the 4th hole in two tries, before Skytrak locked up with a red light on top and no laser.

Bogey: That seems way off. I think most people over-estimate their distances, but your differences are so far off that there must be something else going on.

If it were me, I would go to Dicks or a PGA store etc and hit a few on their simulators. See what ball speed, launch angle and spins you are getting and see which of those numbers is off compared to Skytrak.

What numbers do you see on skytrak on a 200 yard drive? To carry 250 you would need to be swinging over 100 MPH.

My driving is the weakest part of my game. In fact I normally hit a long iron off the tee because I could never carry my driver much more than 200 yards and it always had a nasty fade/slice. In 3 weeks of skytrak practice, hitting probably 5000+ shots, and watching a ton of golf tip videos on you tube, I have started getting 225 yard carry, 250-260 yard total distance drives. My fade is mostly under control. I can draw it a bit now as well. My swing speed is about 95mph (measured via SkyPro), but with the swing changes I have made I have gone up a few MPH and may be able to reach 100MPH with accuracy with a bit more practice. .

Skytrak has been great for me, I hope you get it figured out.

You might have an older CPU that's causing the problem. I had the same problem with an older laptop I have.

Also, if you go into the E6 menu, then back into the game, that usually fixes the top red light problem.

Not sure why I find this funny. But in 2 years from now when I hear others say they hit X yards with their driver with X new launch monitor it just gets tiresome. I don't disagree that some have issues with correct distance, but it does seem comical that golfers think they hit it like that.

Not specific to the previous posts, just have heard it over and over.

Contrary to popular belief, there really are quite a few Skytrak duds out there. When I first got mine, and my driver distance barely broke 150 yards, I figured I was a worse golfer than I thought. Until I tried it next to a GC2. 150-170 yard drives on my Skytrak were going 205-235 on the GC2.

Yeah, it's getting a little old. I am sure there were a few defective units, but there can't be this many. The units that were defective had really weird launch angles and spin, too, not just "it's short." I actually think e6 distance is a little inflated, if anything. But generally, e6 distances seem accurate to me.

There is some units that are defective. I went through the same exact thing with my first Skytrak. After receiving my second one I realized that the first one the backspin was reading really high. With the driver I was seeing upwards of over 6000 rpm. With the second one I haven't seen anything over 3500 with the driver. And a difference of about 20 yards gain.

Hi guys! Still fighting with e6 demo and skytrak. I have formatted and reinstalled Windows multiple times to experiment with different install environments. Sometimes I've updated all Windows files before installing, sometimes I've started from immediately after install without updating Windows.

Something weird happens though... has anyone had e6 have their computer ask to reboot in the middle of an install? It's happened 2 or 3 times now... when I skip it, it continues the install. Then it tells me it's missing some .dll files when I try to run it. It's not an automatic update either happening in Windows as I've turned those off. My specs again are Mac Mini 2012 running bootcamp on Windows 7 64 bit. I'm really at a loss here... might try Windows 10 next. Thanks!

This is very odd. Try using a tool like winrar or 7zip to unpackage the downloaded file before installing. I installed on two pc's without issue win 7 64 bit and win 10

Thanks Tekbud!! A good idea and I have tried downloading winrar and it helped but only in the sense that it asked me which sim. To install for. Without winrar, it skipped that step. I feel like it's 2 steps forwards, 1.9 steps back with e6 and my mac mini and boot camp. Gonna try one more time on Windows 7 Witt everything updated before install. Then I'll try windows 10. Thanks again!!

You're not alone with e6 demo and skytrak. Have deleted and installed e6 demo multiple times. At no point does the install ask which sim - that is - I never have the option to select skytrak. Using windows 7. Has anyone encountered this issue and found a way to resolve it.

I like Tekbud, have E6 on 2 cpu's. Win 7 and Win 10, both had no install issues.

I'll uninstall from my laptop (win 7) and re-install. See what happens.

One more shot at this. I go to trugolf.com select e6golf pulldown menu and select 'e6golf demo' then download from there. Am I missing any step?

SAVE FILE, Never, ever, should you select to run it straight from a download.

How did you get it to allow you to select skytrak. Have tried repeatedly. No luck.
