Try right clicking the link and the save the file, since you said goes straight to the install when you download it (if I understand correctly).

Are you new to computers? Download the file, save it, then open with win rar or win zip.Originally posted by Mario mwndonca View Post
How did you figure it out. Ive tried installing several times and never get that option?
If you can't figure it out, then you should hire someone to set it up for you.

At the risk of being insulted again - inlve opened it repeatedly with winrar and zip. At no point does it give me the option of selecting skytrak. Of your intended response is as 'helpful' as the last - don't bother.Originally posted by luv2golf View PostJust asking? It's a fair question. Are you new to computers?

I just installed the e6 demo on my computer with no issues.
I'd recommend uninstalling your current installation (by going into the remove programs in the control panel) and delete all the files that are left behind regarding trugolf/e6.
Then re-download the software from the site and do a fresh install.
By not having the SkyTrak option in the dropdown sounds like it could be a bad exe download or some files that are left behind which is preventing the SkyTrak option from being displayed

Hi Guys! I had that problem and did FIX it... you have to download WinRAR and use it to expand the file instead of using the built in capabilities of the downloaded file itself. Once I did that, I got the option to select Skytrak but nothing before that. I still don't have it working but at least I Got to pick the SKytrak option. Good luck!!Originally posted by luv2golf View PostOk, these are the screen shots you should get:

I hope this helps someone as this took a while for me to get working on Windows 10. I always got asked which hardware I wanted to use when installing but E6 would never connect to my Skytrak. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling (always with the latest version), it was driving me crazy then finally I got it to work.
If you go to
C: TruGolf/E6 Golf 1.6
Then click on "TruUpdate" - It will download and then update the latest version.
Then the next time I ran E6 it launched a command prompt and connected to my Skytrak first time.

Hey someone PM me asking questions about setting up E6 and they were having issues. So figured I would post this info here in case it helps anyone else that is having issues:
- Install the Skytrak PC App 2.1 and then connect Skytrak and make sure it auto updates the firmware to the latest version. Then make sure you have logged into the App and your device is registered with Skygolf.
- Make sure your Skytrak works with PC app first with no issues.
- Download and install the E6 beta from their site.
- Turn Skytrak off, maybe even unplug from USB.
- Install E6 and on 1st screen under drop down select Skytrak as the device/hardware. And finish all install prompts to finish.
- Close E6 if open. Then go to C:\TruGolf\E6 Golf 1.6 and click on TruUpdate.exe. Run the check for updates and install the latest version of E6.
- Open E6 and turn on Skytrak plugged in via USB. Hopefully you get the two green lights.
- Go to Practice Range and see if top light turns green and red laser is shown.
This all should work but try the following for troubleshooting:
- When 1st connecting, open Skytrak PC 2.1 app and connect to Skytrak. That connects to device and verifies license.
- Close Skytrak App and leave Skytrak turned on.
- Open E6 software. Go to Practice/Driving range and see if you can get it to read.
- Sometimes in E6 the red laser disappears. Then I first click on E6 menu and close menu. This usually triggers it to read again and shows laser. Sometimes I have to turn off Skytrak and back on, then when two green lights show I then open E6 menu and close it again. Then it usually shows laser again.
If you are still having issues your USB driver may not be setup correctly.
You will have to go to your Device Manager on your PC and verify the USB driver is showing without displaying a ! next to it. If it shows ! next to it then there is an issue with your USB driver. At that point I would right click on the driver and remove/uninstall it. Then unplug Skytrak. Then reboot computer. Then plug Skytrak back in and open Skytrak app. Then make sure in Device Manager the USB driver shows like its installed correctly.

Thanks BrianWill and Mike80! I gave up on getting it going on my Mac Mini and have ordered a Windows machine... I knew this was coming sooner or later as the Mac Mini only has the integrated graphics card and I can't change it out for something better. While the Mac has been pretty much perfect for organizing my personal media and purchased media, I figured it was time to get something better for the purpose of the golf sim programs. Great details below Mike80 and i'll use them when I get going again later on this week.
My last problem that I gave up overcoming was the installation of C++ Dev package (I think this is what it was called) during the initial parts of the install for e6. It would always ask to reboot my machine during the install of e6 at this point (step 1 or 2 of 9). I tried saying yes and then letting it go an then saying no another time after a fresh install of windows... still no luck either way. I kept getting a missing .dll file upon launching e6. I'm fairly certain this error happened due to the C++ install somehow.
The skytrak software always worked no problems oddly enough and I always installed it before e6 and made sure it was going before even attempting the e6 install. I have two questions for people as I'm going crazy wanting to try any simulator (live in Canada so we've been in non-golf mode for a while now).
#1) Did people update Windows 7 or Windows 10 completely before install? I always tried to do this before installing the skytrak software and the e6 software.
#2) SKytrak software worked with Rhapsodo Driver and WinUSB Driver updated version of Rhapsodo driver. I stopped updating the Rhapsodo driver before installing e6 though as I did get to a place where I was able to install e6 with the skytrak choice made during install but never got the lights going. My most recent attempts at install didn't even work with e6 due to C++ asking to reboot during install as mentioned above. Did anyone leave the Rhapsodo driver in place or did everyone running e6 use the WinUSB driver in the end? This is Windows 7 note and I'm working with Windows 10 next. Thanks again!

I have a new PC coming this week. Does the PC and ST need to be both on the wireless network to communicate or can my PC be LAN connected and wireless to ST? Will this cause complications?

Do you have a wifi card in your PC? I at first was using my skytrak via the pc app till it kept freezing up on me.
The answer is yes, my cpu was lan connected and I was wifi from pc to skytrak. It does work, your better off though to use a micro usb cable

My PC comes with a USB wifi adapter. I was going to buy a better PCIe wireless adapter with BT as I really don't like a usb cable across the floor....especially with a 2yr old boy running around.
