Even the Optishot saves the range data and outputs it to spreadsheet for analysis so Alienator's expectations seem reasonable enough...

He told me that they had been working on a few remaining problems with short chips and putts but have things about ready to go live (confirming the issues we've seen in the demo.) Extremely helpful and friendly, the kind of support I would think we'd get from a software package of these $$$. He also told me that we should expect cloud announcements at the PGA show in late January. Says that the engineers originally gave 6 months to have it up and running, ended up taking over a year and a half. While I personally won't (probably not, so hard not to....) be buying e6, I have enjoyed the demo immensely and still do. I've managed to figure out that I can hit a bump and run 8-iron to about 20 feet in distance, so I rarely have the issue of not having a chance of getting up and down assuming 10 foot gimmes. Soon this too will be fixed and a sim option will be available for Skytrak, albeit at a pretty hefty cost. I'm curious if anyone expects to buy e6 when it arrives? I do like the online events as well - lots of fun."
Pretty sure I just had a conversation with the same nice gentleman from trugolf. He expressed sincere doubt that e6 for skytrak will be out anytime soon. He put the blame squarely on skytrak (security; subscription model). His closing comment was funny - he said - forgit skytrak; go git yrself a flighscope. I know this isn't new news - just cracked me up - thought I'd share the amusement.Comment

So I decided to give e6 a call myself and see if the stories were similar... Unfortunately they were. This security wrapper is the cause of all the delays and they aren't even sure if it will be available this month. I also asked about e6 cloud just for fun - he basically said 3-6 months, which tells me umm, they have no idea. A bunch of vaporware at the moment. -
voodoo_ca, I'm just saying ST should just tell people we can't work out a deal w any of the sim guys (for whatever reason like we want a security wrapper built into their sw so we can get paid an annuity and they are balking at it so no deal so therefore no sims for now except WGT) instead of just saying "ball is in their court". This way customers can decide to move on or wait at their own peril.

Mike80, I feel the same way- even if ST releases sim tomorrow, I will likely hold off to see what happens with ES16 or possibly wait for some GC2's to flood the market again. ST's timing is unfortunate because they are so close to the alleged ES16 launch, that even us original cheerleaders are willing to press the pause button to see what unfolds with the other options.
And, even if sim launches tomorrow, the shot-to-show delay is still an annoyance for me (although with my new PC and e6 demo, it's not much longer than GC2). I think the delay could be mitigated by showing the ball already on it's flight path, like the GC2 does, instead of showing it launch from the tee. That would give the perception that it was an immediate launch. But that would require some programming work, which would probably take a really long time- judging by the history of software updates to date.

When sim is released I don't see dropping money on expensive sim software for skytrak until I'm sure the major bugs are worked out. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.Comment

I have to agree. I'm actually not so fussed about when they will come out w sim - as like Chughes82 I will not buy right away anyways out of fear I'll pay again (and this time a lot more) for something that will have bugs and will not work properly. This comes from past experiences of forking over $100 a year for GIP ($100 is actually quite a lot for an app let alone it's $100 annually just for some extra features on a free app) and it's been over a year and some supposed features like sync still does not seem to work properly. Same can be said for WGT like when are they going to fix the auto tap-in (more like auto tap-out) issue? Should be a simple fix no? Like "if auto tap-in situation, just assume putt is in and move on"?
Unfortunately, I just get the feeling like this company (not Seth - maybe just SkyGolf) does not care about their product or the customers of their product. Heck free apps release updates to fix their bugs quicker and more frequently than ST/WGT and we're paying $100-200 annually for these things.

I emailed sales at trugolf and they offered to extend my trial. They hooked up with my machine remotely to download the extender. Ultimately the extender didn't work. Not sure I care anymore - the chipping and putting was becoming tiresome. If you really want it email sales@trugolf.com and see if you have better luck than I did.Comment

Using the E6Demo w/ Skytrak, win 7 x64 pc. I use a laptop with an nvidia quadro video card with 4gb video ram. The laptop has a 15" display, so I connect a large screen monitor to the pc's hdmi port. The nvidia quadro card then works on the hdmi port/ large monitor. The problem I'm having is that I can't get the E6 to switch from the laptop display to the large connected monitor. Does anyone know how to do this? I apologize if this has already been asked/answered.Comment

Try launching e6 and drag the command prompt black window over to the other screen real quick. Then e6 should open on that screen.Comment

I have tried setting monitor 2 to be the 'main display' (I don't see a setting for primary display). I do this the normal destop icons go over to monitor 2. But when I launch E6 it goes to monitor 1 (the laptop display). I do have the setting to "extend desktop". The only other options are show desktop only on 1 or show desktop only on 2. To Duplicate the displays, do I use the projector hookup settings?

In a brief e-mail exchange with TruGolf (senior guy at TruGolf if his title is any indication), he tells me that:
"the integration will not be done until the first of February." This was in direct response to a question I asked on January 6 about buying E6 for SkyTrak.
I don't think we should interpret Feb 1. as the release date, but perhaps shortly after. Really don't know, but it does sound like we are getting very close to having a real sim offering for Skytrak (E6, TGC, PG).Comment

Just in time for the end of the indoor golf sim season. Way to go skytrak.............another foul ball. In all seriousness, I hope all skytrak users get something more than Wade Hampton to play this season. I can only imagine how frustrating this must be knowing that TGC, PG and E6 are ready to roll out but being held back due to whatever back end security wrap skygolf is trying to finalize. I finally hooked up my ST to an old computer (with a new GTX960 graphics card) to try the E6 demo. I had to disable my Norton security before I could install the demo, but I finally got it working with help from the suggestions in this thread. (Thanks everyone!) As others have said, short chipping is not very functional. Putting sort of works, but it's different than WGT and both sims are different than real putting so I'm not planning to do much putting practice on E6. E6 does seem more immersive than WGT, but I'm hoping that PG and TGC will be even better.Comment
