    I give up.

I bought a USB wifi adapter, changed the 2.4 ghz band to "golf" on my modem, and tried combination after combination of entering TGC

    What is working
SkyTrak ONLY in direct mode. USB mode does not register shots, network mode cuts in and out every now and then.

    What is not working
TGC2019 remaining playable for any longer than 30-40 mins and going online with TGC.

My sessions with this bloody software last anywhere from 5 mins to 40 mins, tops. No matter what, the 2nd light turns red at the most random times. When this happens, I am forced to shut down the software and reopen. There is no reconnecting.

For the love of god. WHAT SETTINGS ARE NEEDED TO GET THIS THING TO STAY ON!

in my network settings, I have the main Wifi, and Wifi 2 which is the usb WiFi adapter. What does WiFi need to be connected to, and what does WiFi 2 need to be connected to?

Someone had mentioned to ensure SkyTrak is only connected to the 2.4ghz band... How would I do that?

For all the money we spend, you'd think there would be a guide. Dos and Donts of some sort. This is very sad.

    Hi

I dont whether you are using and ipad or laptop or pc, but check that whatever system you are using is not going to sleep after a certain amount of time.

My ipad used to go to sleep, but i set it to stay on all the time when using TGC2019.

    Hope this helps

You shouldn't need network mode if you have a USB wifi adapter. Connect the SkyTrak to the USB Wifi adapter to get in Direct mode, then use your computer's built in wifi card to connect to the internet. You may want to reset the SkyTrak if you have already set up network mode so it will stop trying to go into network mode. You also do not have to restart the game if the connection drops. You can click on the tgc icon in your task bar to bring the interface back up to click "Connect box".

I personally had trouble using the two WiFi connections. I could only get either the Skytrak to connect or internet. Not both. Probably a setting that I was missing on my part. What I ended up doing was using a WiFi extender that had a network port. I plugged a network cable directly to the PC and use that for internet. I then connect the Skytrak in direct connect mode the PC’s WiFi. So for I haven’t lost a connection yet. Small sample size because I just did this a few days ago. I was previously in network mode but I kept losing connection.

They do have instructions, and they are correct, but I totally agree they are just about as far from "intuitive" as you can get.

My suggestion? Reset everything and very slowly step by step run down the instruction list. It will probably take 3X as long as you think it should. I've had to do this a couple times now; once initially, and once after I changed/upgraded my Wifi in the house. Both times it made me want to rip all my hair out, and I'm an IT Professional. You're not alone. Ha ha.

If I remember correctly, GungHoGolf has a good write up on the process. Try searching for that. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion. Where would I find these instructions?

Thanks for the heads up on this.

What was with the 2.4ghz suggesttion the others were saying? Would this even be needed with the USB wifi? Or would I need to connect the computer's built-in wifi card to the 2.4ghz band?

If you are using direct mode, I don't think you need to worry about the 2.4 ghz. That is more for network mode.

I don't know exactly what you are trying to do ... but I assume your plan is to connect direct to Skytrak with one adapter and then use the other one to connect to you router.

Step 1: Connect direct to Skytrak with one of your adapters, probably the USB one.
Step 2: Ensure that the internet is available from your main wifi.
Step 3: Ensure Skytrak range is not running.
          Step 4: Fire up TGC2019.

Have you done this and it still disconnects?

If you can't connect direct, you need to shut off any routers and go in direct, turn off network mode. Then you can turn your router back on.
