  • SkyTrak sits 1/4" above hitting surface. Will this affect the readings?

Like the title says, SkyTrak is currently sitting about 1/4" above the hitting surface. With the slider I utilize to switch between driving area and hitting mat, can't get the ST perfectly level with the surface. Will that small amount reduce the SkyTrak's ability to read the shot properly?

My number's have been off about 15-20 yards as of late though also thinking that has more to do with indoor swing syndrome after not using the sim all summer. Managed to have the ST perfectly level for a bit by placing a EVA mat underneath the Holy Grail strip. Issue was the Velcro attached to the EVA isn't as secure as being attached to the plywood.

Number's were still down as well even when the ST was level too...

    Any input would be appreciated.

1/4" higher with the SkyTrak shouldn't cause a problem. If it does, the problem will be no-reads, not mis-reads - certainly not loss of distance mis-reads. Most likely you've got some ISS.

If it's not ISS, fat shots on the Holy Grail strip will definitely take distance off because contact on the clubface will be high. You can usually feel the fat shot as well, but if only slightly fat, the only symptom will be distance loss.

Great to hear that. Thanks for the insight!

Really enjoying the HG strip as well. Definitely feel like there's some ISS going on and hitting them slightly fat right now.

As Ron states, height generally leads to no reads. But for very low trajectory shots where the imagers don't get full view of the ball, there may be misreads. These are fairly obvious, for example, huge HLA error.
