Newbie here!
I ran across Ron Hornbaker's (gunghogolf.com) article about SkyTrak alignment in this forum earlier today. I had never made any of these adjustments so lots of complaints from friends playing! Issues for me (see pic) - I have a narrow setup (5' wide main mat, 1' wide ST mat) with the ST off the right edge (no left handers invited!) and ST, main & ST mat get put away after every use, screen rolls up out of way.
Using Ron's excellent article, my questions are:
#2 Zero-out the tilt & roll: I’ve got it leveled per the bubble level on the actual unit and when I connect to my SkyTrak, on screen it shows the level in the lower right corner as ‘center bubble’. There doesn't seem to be anything in the program to 'level' it just a graphic showing what tilt & roll means. Am I am missing something?
#4 Use a center-line target: I finally stumbled into how to adjust the center-line on the practice range using <Settings > Session Settings > Camera > Offset> (see photo) but sometimes the option to show the center-line is faded out and sometimes not - no idea why. After adjustment (see pic), I'll be hitting down very right side of mat / screen to keep ball/screen perpendicular. Am I better movign center-line back further left and angling ST unit even though ball / screen won't remain perpendicular?
#6 Mark ST position - I figure I'll need to use tape along front edge of ST and mark where edge of main and ST mat get put on floor unless someone has better idea.
Unrelated to the article, is it possible to move the computer back in my house (avoid wear and tear of dust/heat/cold) and just have a monitor on stand shown or does ST and E6 performance require cabled connections between monitor, projector & computer?
Any other thoughts on best practices for this type of flex setup that gets put away every use would be helpful., I will guarantee you that my next house will be designed with a conditioned space laid out for a sim room using all the info I've been looking through on this forum!
Thanks for any input!
