ryanoneill1 if you can get your hands on a piece of UHMW (white cutting board plastic) you can drill and tap it like metal only it drills an taps very easy. just use some 1/4" or 5/16 bolts on the bottom side of that UHMW to level your unit until the case becomes available. Or just simply drill holes in the board you already have and use a nut on the top and bottom of board.

If you are planning to use the sim software moving the unit will be frustrating in time.

I don't know but a resonable guess is that they are redesigning it so it actually protects the unit as opposed to just looks good:-)

Hello Everyone. Posted this in another forum but saw this one as well so just thought I'd add it here as well. Just finished up my Skytrak protection box with my father over the weekend and it works great. I had the hardest time coming up with the right cutouts, etc so that the front would not cover up the cameras and so the shots would register. Started by sketching out numerous designs on paper and then taping over the Skytrak to make sure it would work before transferring to wood. I have seen several great designs but not one with a template or something that anyone could follow if trying to DIY a box at home. I don't have a 3d printer, etc but my father does have a woodworking shop so we came up with this together after a few tries. Did find that the front of the box had to have a piece of wood that was not too thick or the shots would not register. We ended up using 1/4 inch wood that went through a planer several times to get to the right thickness. I am going to also get the front template and scan an upload here in case anyone wants a good cutout design for the front they can follow that has been proven to work. I will get on that asap and get it uploaded as soon as I can. Let me know your thoughts on the box, good or bad. The feet are also adjustable and have locking mechanisms once you get your desired level so it will not move once you zero it in perfectly level. Hope this will help others like myself who really didn't have anywhere to turn for help. Thanks again!

Although the clear screen on the Skytrak cannot be covered because of functionality, any thoughts on applying a clear screen protector as used to protect iPhone and iPad screens from shattering?

Underdog6 that way even if a ball got thru the slot it should protect the screen from damage, no?

On this design I really feel there would be no need. The golf ball does not fit through the hole at all, not even at the part where the cutout for the laser light is. In addition, the 0.25 inch thickness of the wood will not even let it get close. I actually tested a piece of similar wood with full swings of a hammer and believe me this will more than accomodate a golf ball direct shot. The trick is to use a hard piece of wood for the front. We went with Mahogany for this one.

Wev - I've it happen a few times where the ball bounces back and hits the top of the unit. It doesn't hit hard, but it's something you may want to consider, putting a top cover on your protective case.

For those of you guys who have built enclosures for the unit, does it just sit in there or have you attached it using the threaded holes underneath the ST to keep it from moving around? Asking because I see a lot of enclosures with the spirit levels attached to the outside whereas I'd imagine they want to be attached to the ST itself?
